i have some great news! over the weekend i finished one of my socks using the magic loop technique! i'm a total convert to the magic loop technique--it's the best! i'm definitely going to use magic loop for ANYTHING i do in the round! it's awesome!

come out tomorrow night to see the finished project!

i will let you know that i will not be present tomorrow, as i am going to a long-awaited reunion tour show tomorrow night. i always said i would never miss ACK to go on a date with a guy. but, tomorrow night is not a date with a guy. it's a date with the GREATEST rock band of my youth! and i'm going to enjoy every minute of it.

also--- tonight we will be very excited to talk a little bit more about World Wide Knit In Public Day -- Astoria Park!!! we will be working on some of the prizes we are giving away tonight-- so we are very excited about this event.

***We are looking for volunteers!***
We are seeking volunteers to help us teach knitting or crochet to people attending the event who wish to learn. We advertised the event as a place to share and learn with each other. We are looking for someone who is at least at an intermediate level and can show someone how to crochet (chain stitch, single crochet, possibly double crochet if they got the hang of it) or knit (basic cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch if they got the hang of it). 

Please email me directly if you would like to volunteer to teach knitting or crochet this Saturday for Knit In Public day. Or contact me if you still have any questions about instruction. We greatly appreciate your help for this great event!

what's the weather gonna be like tomorrow? i dont know. tuesday was steamy hot, today was a little cool, who knows what tomorrow will be like! but be sure to bring an unfinished project to work on, while we sip on hot or cold beverages ranging from teas, to coffees, to steamers!

and i just heard that Freeze Peach is now serving sandwiches and other yummy snacks!! yay! i'm really excited about this!

i am in the process of finding a place for us to meet for the next 2 weeks. some ideas i have:

hello ACK!

tonight is a special night of ACK! tonight will be Charity Crafting night. bring along a project you are working on for charity, or bring enough yarn to make squares for Project Linus ( www.projectlinus.org ), ACK has decided to make squares for Project Linus, an organization that donates blankets to children and adolescents in crisis. this is a great organization, so be sure to help them out by making a square or two!

as always, we will be meeting at Freeze Peach ( www.freezepeach.org ), the venue that has been supporting us for the past 4 years! Freeze Peach has an excellent selection of hand brewed teas, coffees, and other fabulous drinks such as Hot Chocolate. and, since it's nice out, get your drink iced! sooo good!
