What is the best cold medication (tablet/pill/gel) known to man that is available OTC? Bonus points if it has some sort of seditive version as well.
I decided to check out the Buckleys liquid gels ($23) and the only way they stop my nose from running is if I insert the gels directly into my nose creating a dam.

My mom is going to have a laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (as an alternative to gastric bypass surgery) a few days after Christmas. She is getting it because she and her doctors are hoping it will help her significant knee and leg pain, and help her be healthier overall. She will not be able to eat solid food for a couple weeks. I am looking for some ideas on what I could send (food or otherwise) to her through the mail to help her through the time after her surgery. Does anyone have any experience with these kinds of surgeries? and what helped you or your friend/loved one through it?

I am four stickers away from getting my Starbucks 2010 planner, and I'm so excited! I might be able to get mine in two days time, if not tomorrow.

Do you get along with your neighbors? Do you invite/get invited over for holidays or anything? Fights?
I don't even know my neighbors. We've been here 10 years and still really have no idea who is around us. We mostly get along with an older couple across the street, but we never go to each others houses or anything like that. It's not all that friendly here I guess. I'v had a few problems with one family, they are the nosey people of the block.

So I'm at work right now and I just recieved a medical call from a 78 year old stroke victim who's confined to a wheel chair.. ( The Story )
Would you take the gentlemans address and send him a little claw grabber thing for Christmas? Would you send something else? Or would you just let it go? I understand that the medical team probably has more to work with as far as making a judgement call on what this man needs... I just feel so bad. =\
Alternatively, if you were the old man would you be offended to recieve an anonymous gift such as that? Would it hurt your pride? What would you want?

So, I feel kind of stupid asking this, but I don't know, so...
I want to start the habit of wearing sunblock on my face (and I guess other parts) when I go outside. Would I just use something like SPF 50? Is this pretty common in stores? I feel like I don't really see it. Should I use something stronger, since I really do not want to tan at all and want to protect as much as possible? Are there any products or brands you would recommend for this goal?

I'm making some last minute gifts for friends and family, and am thinking about making up some cake or cookie mixes (you know, the kind where you gift the dry ingrediants and include a little recipe of the wet ingrediants and cooking instructions).

So, there's the telephone and the DSL modem whatsit in the living room, and there's a telephone extension in my room.
The thing is, when I pick up the phone in my room, all I hear is static. This wasn't a problem before as I don't usually make landline calls, but now I have a need to, and I want to make them in the privacy of my own room (especially in a house full of people).
What can I do about the static? I've heard something called a DSL Splitter, but I'm not sure if that's what I need?
