i think the instructions said that we can collect and prepare for the october project, but no laying down of materials, so i might be a big cheater. if so, just say! but the way that i prepare for all work is by creating a new canvas or support material with other papers first, so i have been doing that - i have about 30-something small (4x5") paper canvasses prepared and a prepared book with 30-something pages ready to work in. but i will not do anything in the book or on the canvasses until october 1. i am now putting them away.
i work full time and normally turn into a zombie by about 9pm, so my hours are numbered and this is "getting ready" for me and i hope it is ok.
but here is my block: i am so great at doing this preparatory stuff. but then i stop. i don't know what to do next.
so i am signing up for 31 days of the scary part!!

Maybe this thought will help: what you do doesn't matter as much as the fact that you're doing it. Give yourself permission to play, regardless of the outcome. Just pick up your favorite tool for creating the next layer, and start.
I had a teacher in grad school who made us work on designs in class, and would often walk up and down the aisles watching and chatting with each of us. If he saw someone with a blank sheet in front of them, he'd go up and scribble in the corner of it, and say, "There! Now it's not virginal paper. Since you can't return it any more, you may as well get on with it." It was in incredibly silly block breaker :)
I don't know any magic tricks for moving beyond the "getting ready" stage. I do know that if I have a series in mind it helps some. Of course, finding a theme for a series is equally as stymieing. *gee* I'm NO help at all am I?!?
