i am finished!
profound words about the experience will have to wait until tomorrow.
(if ever? ha! i'm not very profound!)
i. am. just. too. tired!
however, i did accomplish what i set out to do and am pleased. it was hard, but fun and i really really enjoyed the group and the new works i have seen here.

it came out pretty juicy and garish. the last pages were surprisingly dark and *not* symmetrical. boing! the cover was fun and every time i look at the back i giggle. i *hope* it is gotten by those who have seen the pages, but ... if not, it is my own silly secret. this is hard to write because i have to keep jumping up and down to dole out the sweets. i can't believe i'm eating them, too, after all that time in the dentist chair today.

the end.

You amaze me. This is wonderful. Loved your finale page. Can you direct me to others that you loved?
Also, not to give away trade secrets or anything, but do you always get that soft focus? Is it the camera?

most of the pages are all in here somewhere:

i like most of them! i'm not sure which soft focus you mean? of the images in the book? they are made with the pencam, which is low-resolution, rather poor quality. sometimes i mess with them in photoshop, as i do most images. i don't usually like them straight out of the camera. i use different filters and stuff, but nothing specific. i guess, like in the one of the pencam, in the background layer, with the trees, i put a big light flash! i wanted the pencam to glow magically! ha ha. thank you!!

This is so great! Congratulations -- the pencam book is beautiful, so gaudy and wild and artistic. I like the collage with the red-eyed spooky doll too, maybe I'll write real fast and get to my horror novel in Nanowrimo. Mwuhahaha!

Hehehe yeah, you did a lot! It was more invigorating for me though -- and for me Nanowrimo pure is something I do annually come what may. Also, I have to admit that novelwriting comes easier to me now than anything else that I do. Once I get going into a good book, it's more like reading a good book than anything else, so the degree of my need for relaxation is what pushes up my wordcount. The process has become automatic. It's become easy by practice, and turns out best if I don't think of it as work and just keep turning the pages typing it in as it comes.

I love this year's main character, title character, Snowflake Obsidian. He's a 40 year old horse of a smart longlived breed who got enchanted up a bit from that and has just become a wizard in his own right by virtue of casting a spell without any human assistance (like the spell to speak human languages). Masterwork for any wizard is spellcasting without tools or spoken words, so he needed to reach Master to cast spells at all. Now he's on quest carrying the Hero of the Age and is about to become the Wizard of the Age in his own right.

Awesome. LOVE the top collage. I'm thrilled for you that you finished the PenCam book (now publish it please) and *giggle* the back cover. Kudos Bobbi.

You know, that's not a bad idea, Bobbi. Do you ever publish editions of your collages? I've seen some on Etsy that are selling really well, and they're not even the originals! I love the scary doll.

sometimes i think of doing that, because often the collages make really GREAT prints. i've done a few that way and was pleased with them matted and framed. one can also feel comfortable selling them at a fairly reasonable price, too.

what a fantastic accomplishment! I keep looking for some of these on your flickr and can't find my favorite. do you have them in a pencam book folder?

thanks! they are mostly posted here in artsofomo, usually under a cut. if you hit the "cobaltika" tag, all of my stuff for the month will come up and you can find most of them. i will probably make a little web gallery of the pages, too, but there are a couple where my printer was wonky and i want to reprint and paste the images for those days first. i put a few in flickr, too, but they are sort of random in the past month. i'm all over the place! gotta clean up!
