These were hanging on a fence over a year and a half ago when we moved in. I haven't felt like I have the right to remove them. I think they may be at home.

I have a thing for collecting feathers, too...

ON my way back to the house one sultry summer's afternoon, something in the grass beside the track caught my eye... On closer inspection, I found a small clump of fine downy feathers strewn from what could have only been a infant bird... The mere presence of these feathers and the way the were scattered appeared very violent, it tore at my heart there and then.
I could find no other trace of the bird and assumed it had fallen from the nest, then been snatched up by some hungry animal.
When I got back to the house, I took a single tissue back to where the feathers were, and gathered them up in it- A soft final resting place for the memory of a baby bird I'd never seen. I fetched some other yummy-coloured feathers that were lying close-by, too... they just seemed to complete the scene.
I took the gently-wrapped feathers home in their tissue and made a small something in the memory of this scene that had touched me so.

Subject:Cross-posted in found_objects

Time:4:06 am.
For the purists, I have decided to post some pictures of some objects I found.

ooo the colours

I have a container full of random objects that I have found over the years. I usually only bother to collect things if they have especially yummy or colours, or they're that interesting.
Lighters aren't that hard to come by, and neither are bass/guitar plectrums -- Other more quirky things include a nearly complete set of automotive fuses (which I liked muchly cause they have some neato colours), a set of keys, and a screwdriver.

Because there is probably

A) a car somewhere out there that won't start
B) someone who can't get in/out of their house
and
C) someone who is screwed without a tool

I present myself with the special effort award. I would like to take a bow now, all eyes on me please.

For me, the art here is all about the colours. Yum... )

Please feel free to leave a comment with links to other LJ communities that exhibit photography, humorous images, photoshop work, stories, or whatever that could be considered to be related to this community in any way. A brief description would be helpful.

The point of this is for everyone to know that they have alternatives if their entries don't necessarily fit in this particular community. I will update this list from time to time, and will link to it from the community userinfo.
