The Art Conspiracy is a rapidly growing community of Painters, Photographers, Sculptors, Musicians, Writers, Programmers, etc. It is a place to share your talents with the world and discuss topics with like-minded individuals.
An Art Conspiracy membership gives you the ability to share your art with the rest of the world without banner ads and pop-up ads cluttering your work. It also gives you a chance to discuss your work with peers and help you improve your skills through constructive criticism. If you are a struggling artist, The Art Conspiracy is perfect for increasing your exposure. If you're an established artist, The Art Conspiracy is perfect for you to keep in touch with admirers of your work.
Your free account gives you the ability to post to all 5 Conspiracies (Eye, Sound, Word, Physical, and Mind), as well as a free POP3 E-mail account (yourusername@artconspiracy.com) and the ability to place your items up for auction.
The Art Conspiracy began as a spark in the mind of guitarist/writer Dan Hoerner. Dan envisioned a virtual community of artists exchanging ideas and practices through an electronic medium. His head swimming with concepts of the site, he began to seek out individuals with the ability to turn them into reality.
Enter webmaster John DeSpirito. In his spare time, John was hard at work maintaining a fan site dedicated to Dan's band "Sunny Day Real Estate". For kicks, John programmed an electronic greeting section into the site and e-mailed Dan a Halloween greeting. Dan replied by asking if he'd be interested in working for him on Clearly the Underdog Publishing's site, from which The Art Conspiracy branched off. After many rough drafts and long distance phone conference brain-storming sessions between the two...The Art Conspiracy went live on June 2, 2001.
Relying on word of mouth, the site's membership grew into the hundreds. The site still continues to grow and evolve each day, shaped by the creative force of its members.
