AboutHello! Welcome to the Art Beta community. This is for all you HP/LOTR fanartists looking for someone to beta your artwork. Post your work in progress here, and we'll all give it a good look and try to help you out!

fiendling and I'm your moderator. I made this community because I kept seeing fellow artists post asking for someone to IM them to look over their art and check proportions and anatomy and background. I'm also always asking others to look at my art and tell me if there's anything that needs fixed. So, I made this community to make finding art betas easier. And this way, you'll get a lot of helpful comments!
If you're new here, you may notice that all the entries are locked. Only members may see the entries. After much thought, I decided I would restrict this community to artists only. I realize a lot of nonartists would like to join to critique, but if everyone joins the community, theres no reason to have it, and I have to be fair. No artist likes their latest masterpiece to be spoiled to their audience! If the community is filled with lurkers and non-artists, then why not just post the art in your own journal for the same audience? I hope you understand! ):
I'll also be checking for inactive members. If you never post art and never comment I'll remove you from the community. This is an interactive community, and I'd like to see everyone participate in helping out.

When I ask someone to beta my work, I usually have the problematic area in my head, and I tell them what I feel is wrong with it. However, if you really have no idea what's wrong but it just feels wrong, you don't have to say anything more than that.

I'm still working on ideas for this, so suggestions are welcome!
Aside from posting your WIPs to be beta-ed, you may also post helpful links and other relevant things. You can make posts about art materials, ask questions, etc. Just don't spam! If you're really concerned about whether the post is allowed or not, just leave me a comment at my journal asking about it! (:
