AboutMy fellow suffering creative type, Adalisa (luxshine), and I came up with the idea for this community after deciding that we couldn't possibly be the only artists/writers to suffer from pangs of self-doubt, lack of creative drive, and occasional misery. We decided we should create a place where artists and writers can come and complain: about life, about frustrating projects, writers-block, rejection letters, and the days your art just won't look the way you want it to.
We also encourage people to post helpful techniques, book, music and movie reviews, poetry snippets, art/writing exercises, and anything else that you think a fellow creative type would enjoy. You can also ask for crits of your stories and art (only constructive crits, please -- I'll post something later on what the difference is between a good crit and a bad crit). After all, we don't want this community becoming TOO much of a downer! Hence the super-happy poppy community theme. All we ask, as mods, is that you be respectful of your fellow creative types. The rest of the world is more than happy to rip us down, let's not do it to each other, okay?
