What, you say? A color is our theme? Well green just happens to be my favorite color. And besides that intriguing fact, there are an awful lot of really cool things and people who are green. Who's green you ask? Well Kermit the Frog for one and then there is that big guy The Incredible Hulk. Of course, there are all those lovely things in nature that are green, like leaves and lizards and herbs and crab apples. And then there is money and recycling logos and don’t forget Soylent Green!

This week it’s all about the GREEN. Let's doodle people!

Welcome to the sunny summer month of July! I hope everyone had a great Independence Day Holiday! It looks like this week is gonna be extra toasty around my home state of California. Hopefully we can contain our latest wildfires before they cause any more trouble. Come on Mother Nature, work with us! Let’s keep the summer fun and burn free! (Unlike me when outdoors! I’m such a vampire! Ha!)

How do you relax when the summer heat descends upon your home town? Do you drink margaritas ‘till the sun goes down? Or do you embrace the desert sun and go for hikes? Do swim, surf or tan at the beach? Let’s hear it! It’s summer time and the livin’s easy!

For a class of mine, I had to come up with a lesson plan, have a little kid do the lesson, and attach the kids work.
I of course did not have a kid around at the time to do this on, so I made it up.
I DREW THIS - Pretending to be a 6 or 7 year old..... Teacher fell for it. I got an A. :-)
I am 22 years old.

We've all heard the rumors about the meaning of the Mayan calendar ending on Dec. 12th 2012, right? Well, if popular belief is anywhere near correct then we are in for some seriously big changes or the END OF THE WORLD! (cue: Hollywood Scream) In anycase, we’ve only got about 3 and a half years untill the big day. If it’s really gonna be the final show down, what do picture happing? Who is gonna be our big bad? Our final boss?

'Ello ello! How was your weekend? I certainly enjoyed myself and hopefully you did too. I watched a bunch of movies and went hiking. Anyways, onwards with the point! Our new theme shall be: Illustrate your favorite Song Lyrics!

I am a fan of Kate Beaton's comics and she recently posted some post-it note art in her LJ which can be seen by clicking here. Seriously guys, check out her LJ page and/or website, she makes awesome history comics and insightful dialogs with her "younger self" that always amuse me. I hope you also get a kick out of Miss Beaton's work!

Whoops! Sorry folks, Memorial Day Holiday sorta threw me off schedule. It's Tuesday and I'm a day late with the theme. So with no more delay here it is:

Mars!

As you may or may not know, NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander successfully landed near the northern end of Mars to look for ice. What wacky sh*t do you think will be found? Frozen Aliens? Nasty viruses that will destroy humans? Kittens that poop rainbows? You decide! It’s like those page by page adventures; each chapter (or art stickie) features a different heroic journey.

And I just want to remind you, pictures of your art stickies in action are welcome and encouraged! Stick your doodles on water coolers and mops handles and roommates and then share the hilarious/awkward/awesome aftermath with us. We want to know all the juicy details. :)
