Ars Gothica is a forum for VISUAL ARTISTS (amateur and professional) working in the Gothic genre who wish to display and discuss their artwork. Be spooky, be weird, be cheesy, or be serious. Hey, if you don't flaunt your talents, who will?

COMMUNITY GUIDELINES:
* Do not spam. Using this group to spam another group, event, website, blog or forum that is not remotely "dark visual art" related will result in the post being deleted and your LJ account banned from this group without warning. If you are not sure if your post will fit the community theme, contact the group owner (![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) valerian) BEFORE posting.
* Posting and promoting your artwork/exhibition/website/etc. Post YOUR OWN paintings, photography, film clips, sculpture, collage, animation, fashion/costume design, make-up artistry, drawings, crafts, interior design, illustrations, digital art, industrial design, etc., in whatever stage of completion you wish - but keep content ORIGINAL. Respect copyrights - do not display anyone's work but your own, unless you have the artist's permission and give them full credit (i.e. credit the photographer of your fashion show, etc.). You may also post exhibition announcements, calls for submissions, model searches/requests, sales notices and auction posts (limit your auction posts to once a month ONLY), and articles related to your artwork.
* Mature content. If you view your journal while at work, school, or in front of the kids, you should use a friends filter, since there may be images displayed here which may not be acceptable in these environments ("NWS" or "not work safe"). However if you are sensitive to artistic nudity, this is not the place for you.
* Image Size. Images should be 500x500 pixels or smaller so they don't hog the entire screen and take forever to load. Posts containing several images: put any additional images after the first one behind an lj-cut tag.
* NO WEBCAM PHOTOS, drunken party photos, quiz results, or anything else that looks like it belongs on MySpace.
* Participation not required, but encouraged. Critique and constructive feedback are welcome. We insist that members take a mature approach to criticism and avoid strictly personal comments ("I think that's ugly, you suck" remarks are immature and pointless). Honest, constructive, intelligent input is expected (aren't you sick of everyone smiling blandly at your work and saying "Uh, that's nice, it's very...interesting..."?), so being super defensive and thin-skinned is not an advantage here.
PLEASE NOTE: Although we wish to be as liberal as possible with images & text posted here, any content posted that is blatantly offensive or off-theme will be removed without warning.
