| About: | This is the journal for Ark, a claimed-tag story by selected members of ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} svfic. "Claimed-tag" means that writers should read along, and when you get to the point where you want to write, drop in a comment that says "![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif){kind=small} secondverse claims the next tag." From there, you have 24 hours to replace that comment with your story tag. If 24 hours elapses, your tag spot can be claimed by another. You need to sign up at svfic to be able to post to the story. I love you all and am happy to play with you - I'm happy that you want to play with me. However, you must abide by the loosely structured rules, or I will smack you down. With love, of course.RULES 1. Pay attention. Pay attention to the tone and direction of the story. If you aren't paying attention, the characters go schizo and nobody likes that. This story is epic in scope and future/sci-fi in tone. 2. Pay attention. Pay attention to your writing. I have a pretty high standard, and that standard is: don't suck. Watch your tense (this story is in past tense, now and forever); watch your spelling and grammar. If you know you tend to make mistakes, type your tag in Word first and take advantage of that nifty spellchecker. If English is your second language or you are unsure of something, get someone else to read your tag before you post it. BY ALL MEANS, read over what you have written before you hit that "submit" button. Please. Pleasepleaseplease. 4. I reserve the right to use the Supreme Executive Smackdown on you, and by posting here, you agree that I can. I will only use it if the story goes nuts or I feel like things are going down a bad path. I will also use it in cases of severe abuse of the English language. 5. You have the power of the "WTF?" You may use this power in the behind-the-scenes thread at svfic. That's where we discuss the story. If you have a "WTF?" moment, go there and get it out in the open. We want your input, both on the story and behind the scenes.6. Have fun. Don't get your knickers in a twist. This is, first and foremost, a writing exercise.
