Members of Arctic Monkeys and Babyshambles to hit the road

MONGREL – the indie super-group featuring Arctic Monkeys Matt Helders, former Monkey Andy Nicholson, Babyshambles' Drew McConnell, Reverend And The Makers' Jon McClure and Joe Moskow and rapper Lowkey – have announced details of their first UK and Irish tour.

The collective – who are set to release their debut album in October – will play three live dates in Autumn plus one yet-to-be confirmed show in Lebanon.

Tickets for the three shows are on sale now.

Alex Turner and co are set to hit the recording studio this week

Arctic Monkeys are set to hit the studio this week to begin the recording of their third album.

The band were set to head into the studio sometime over the summer, and it has been confirmed that they will now begin sessions this week.

They decided to bring the sessions forward after being inspired when they all met up at Glastonbury festival a few weeks ago (June 27-29).

According to The Sun, Alex Turner and co will spend two weeks in a Gloucestershire studio, which they have customised to their liking.

Who doesn't love it, the official Message Board on arcticmonkeys.com. It's not only full with great pictures of the boys, it includes loads of spam, dissing ~~on Alexa~~ and people hating on each other.

But I I think the hating was too much, so that the Board hasn't been available for a long time. Is anyone else having the same problem?

I would be amazingly over the top(ly) grateful, if people could post any pictures they have of Alex.
But, heres the glitch. He has to be guitarless. IE, not on stage.

You can post as many as you like, i just need them for a school thing.
The website i usually use is down, and my internet hates me at the moment, and search engines are taking ages to load.

hey guys! I checked and didn't see this around here, maybe i missed it. in that case, please mods feel free to delete and sorry! anywho, if you haven't seen this, then you should cause it's quite interesting...

NOTE: This will also work for on Last Shadow Puppets, but not on the Rascals. I'm sure you can guess why. It's also worth saying that spinning people round and round until they are destroyed is a bad thing to do. It would only be appropriate if you were to discover that Alex's relationship with Alexa Chung has create a rift in the space-time continuumnmum, equivalent to that of matter and anti-matter coming together (Alex + Alexa, see). And if they were unable to put a stop to their sordid doings right away, the entire universe would be blinked out of existence.

And even then, you should really do HER first...

Have you ever seen them live? not really, they were here (Buenos Aires) last october but sadly (VERY VERY SADLY) I couldn't go.

Arctic Monkeys' Alex Turner collaborating with The Kills?

Arctic Monkeys' Alex Turner has revealed that he has been working on a song with The Kills' Alison Mosshart.

Speaking to XFM, Turner said that the song was named 'The Fire And The Thud'. He said that the song was written and recorded by Turner before Mosshart added her vocals separately.

Mosshart revealed that she hadn't heard the finished song herself, but Turner himself claimed, "It's good - it's really good'.

However, it was unclear whether the pair were being entirely serious, or exaggerating details of a possible hook-up.

The duo did, however, go on to consider the chances of further collaboration, commenting that there may be the chance of more tracks being recorded together in the future

Arctic Monkeys to start work on third album this month

Band set for Sheffield songwriting sessions

Arctic Monkeys are set to reconvene this month to begin writing their third album.

Speaking to BBC 6Music at the Glastonbury festival, guitarist Jamie Cook said that the work on the band's second album, 2007's 'Favourite Worst Nightmare', would take place in the their hometown of Sheffield.

"We are gonna get our fingers out next month [July]," he said. [We'll] get back in his [Alex Turner, singer/guitarist] room in Sheffield and start writing some tunes."

When asked about what direction the band might take for the album, Cook was unsure.

"I don't know yet, we could go any way. I'm excited," he said. "[At the] end of last year when we had been touring for a long time, we just needed a bit of a rest. But we are eager to get back in."

He added that it would be good to get back together, after the changes in the bandmembers' lives over the last year.

"It's kind of weird," he explained. "Al's moved down to London now and we haven't seen each other for a bit. But we all keep on meeting up.

"[At] the end of last year we had seen each other constantly for four years. Sleeping on a bus and waking up next to each other, it was like, 'I do not want to see you for about... for a long time!' But then you are kind of weirdly missing each other."

Cheeky rapper Dizzee Rascal says he can't wait for Arctic Monkey Alex Turner and TV presenter Alexa Chung to marry.

East Londoner Dizzee, whose new track with Calvin Harris, Dance Wiv Me, is out today, said: "They are perfect for each other. Whenever I see them they are so close. I'm just waiting for my wedding invite now."

The band, which is the side project of Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys and the Rascals Miles Kane, performed on the Park Stage, last night, to a large crowd who had gathered in hope of their appearance.

But fans got far more than they bargained for as none other then Jack White joined them on stage.

6music caught up with Alex Turner, exclusively, back stage who said it was all his girlfriend, Alexa Chung's idea to get Jack on board:

"Well actually Alexa said, ´is Jack White playing with you, why don´t you get him´ As she was sprawled across the bed while we were having a nap earlier on. So I thought yeah, that would be a good idea. So off I went and then he kindly joined us."

kings of leon denied alex and alexa access to the backstage area on friday to watch their headline slot, it was in the london paper last night. they flashed their vip wristbands to security but were refused in to watch side stage. the article started with something like 'alex and alexa may be loved up but they got no love from the kings of leon'.

The Last Shadow Puppets Play Secret Gig At Glasto

The Last Shadow Puppets played a surprise gig at Glastonbury tonight (June 28) - and were joined by Jack White.

As rumours spread around the site, a large crowd gathered at the Park Stage to sww Alex Turner and Miles Kane play an acoustic set mainly drawn from their chart-topping album 'The Age Of The Understatement'.

Kicking off with 'My Mistakes Were Made For You' and 'Only The Truth', the pair played as a duo.

Joined by their keyboard player, they then played a stripped sown version of 'Calm Like You' after which the pair swapped guitars to play 'Standing Next To Me'.

The trio played 'The Chamber' and 'The Meeting Place', after which Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders stepped in to add drums for the title track from 'The Age Of The Understatement'.

After the drummer left the stage, Turner explained "we've only got the chance for one more", as the pair put down the guitars and started singing along to a keyboard-led cover of 'Wondrous Place'.

Then several bars in White, who had played on the Pyramid Stage with The Raconteurs earlier in the evening, took the stage unannounced, playing a guitar solo, before departing after his work was done - leaving the duo to finish the song.

Speaking to NME.COM, the pair explained they had simply bumped into White backstage. "We just asked him and he said yes," explained Kane.

Arctic Monkeys fever has hit Glastonbury, with all four band members spotted on site.

The quartet had previously indicated they would attend this summer's festivals as punters, however with the whole band turning up this weekend (June 27-29) the rumour mill has gone into overdrive.

Spotted: Alex Turner carrying a guitar case (and snogging Alexa Chung) on the way to the hospitality area. Which suggests that the rumours are true: The Last Shadow Puppets will be the second mystery guest playing (the others being Franz Ferdinand - Nno headlining the park stage tonight in place of an absent Pete Doherty).

*dusts the place a bit* Oh, well. I can't expect anything else than nothing since our boys are not so active this year. But since I don't want this community to die completely, there's a recent picture of our beloved Nicholas. He was sighted by a fan from AMUK.com at Sheffield's city centre.

My man is looking fiiiiiiiiine.

Anyway. We'll be whored with more pictures, very soon. Alexa has said that she's going to Glastonbury (that is this weekend, for those who have no clue whatsoever) with her boo, so we'll end up getting some pictures, I suppose? So watch out, I won't be around to post them for you, since I'll be at a festival in this weekend. Sadly not Glasto, but the equivalent to it in Switzerland. ;D

BUT YOU KNOW WHAT'S WELL FUNNY? Remember Johanna? Alex' ex-girlfriend. Well, she's dating the bassist (?) of Kings Of Leon. They are headlining in Glastonbury, I think on Saturday. So the chances that she'll be there are high. CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW AWKWARD THAT COULD BE FOR THEM?!?! :D LOL. (And I might see Johanna, too, maybe? Because Kings Of Leon are headlining on Sunday at 'my' festival... *shrugs*)
