When you say that you enjoy industrial music, do you...
- immediately think of music that actually DOES sound like power tools?
- try to explain that the "industrial" you like is music one usually can't dance to, unless one counts strange sexual doings as "dancing"?
- think of bands that most of the 14 to 24 year olds nowadays wouldn't even know by name?
- refer to music that isn't about to be played any time soon on a ClearChannel station?
- want to cuff people who use the term "industrial" to refer to rock bands who have maybe three seconds of sampled noise in one or two of their songs?
If any of the above situations seem to refer to you, well, hello, you're where you belong. Though even if these extremes DON'T describe you, and you just have any sort of interest at all in early, pre-Wax-Trax-era industrial music, I welcome you as well.
I started this community when I realized that there actually ARE some new artists who play old-school style industrial music and I don't have enough familiarity with them to know which ones are worth delving into, and figured that maybe other people who enjoy my favourite style of music (or anti-music) might be able to help me find out about some of the newer oldschool industrial artists out there. (Yes, I realize that the idea of something being "new oldschool" does sound inherently ridiculous.../shrug)
