Hello.
If you're reading this, then congratulations. You've been given the opportunity to beta test Arcane Online, the coming massively multiplayer online revolution. If you're curious as to how we got your e-mail, suffice to say that your e-mail client gives out more names than it says it does. But it got you this opportunity, did it not?
Within the attachment below is all you need to play the game, assuming you already own a virtual reality kit, as is required for most games recently. The installer packaged within will install the game on your computer, and your specific passcode to create an account is in a text file inside, as well as the address of the website at which you can contact us for feedback. We appreciate your support, and thank you for beta testing Arcane Online!
Seems like your pretty regular spam, doesn't it. But wouldn't it be funny if the game was a little more than just the latest haphazardly-thrown-together thing out of Korea? Wouldn't it be a little weird if what happened inside the little fantasy had...more to it? If, perhaps, it put more in dire straits than your social life?
You're reading the info page for Arcane Online, an original character roleplay on two fronts! Our basic gimmick to hook hapless players premise is that when one applies, one applies for two characters: A character who is the "player", so to speak, and a character who is the player's avatar in the game. This avatar may or may not have a completely separate personality from the player...and Arcane Online has a strictly-enforced "roleplaying only" rule. So strictly-enforced, in fact, that the poor player doesn't have much of a choice.
Thinking of joining? It would be good to head over and look at the rules and setting info first, before checking out the application page. Perhaps you want to peruse some of the finer points of this MMORPG, in which case I suggest you take a look at the class system.
Of course, if you still have some questions, you can go over to the FAQ and see if your question is answered there...or ask it in a comment. You could also tell us what you think and how we could be doing things better over at the questions and concerns post. And, finally, if you plan to drop a character because there are getting to be simply too many for you to handle, I suggest you amble on over to the dropping post.
