Hi! First time writing JoA anything. Hope All Y'all like it. :)
Title: I Fall and Hope To Be Saved. (I think that's a line in a song, anyone know what song?) Author: Bloodanna Words: 100 Prayers: Judith I steal. I run. I fall. And an angel lifts me to my feet. She's beautiful with golden hair whipped by the wind and clothing that only she could pull off. She's strong; lifting me from a dark place no one else had ever been able to reach, while never dropping her oddly checkered lamp. Plus she's sane which you never see, at least not around here. She smiles and the ice wall I had built around myself melts. "Hi! I'm Joan." She chirps and holds out her hand. I stand before her showing strength where there is none. "Judith." I say, shaking her hand and hoping to be saved.

"What If God Was One Of Us" by Joan Osbourne |
] |
I have compiled all the ideas and links that everyone have been throwing out there, so that we can have one big mass campaign going to save Joan, and also, so that I can provide all of your petitions, communities, etc. to my friends, family, and other communities I moderate, even if they aren't Joan related, but ones I know have a few Joan related fans. So, I thought I'd make a post that everyone can bookmark that has ALL the links (so far) to the petition, communities, CBS feedback, and Ellen's e-mail. Feel free to comment and cross post it to your journal and other communities. We need to get it out everywhere!
To sign the petition: http://www.petitiononline.com/sw34fr56/petition.html To tell CBS what you think of them and what they've done online: http://www.cbs.com/info/user_services/fb_global_form.shtml The Official website to save Joan of Arcadia: http://www.savejoanofarcadia.com The LJ Community to Save Joan of Arcadia: http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=savejoan The Joan of Arcadia LJ Community: http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=joanofarcadia
To write CBS in person:
CBS Television Network 51 West 52nd Street New York, NY 10019
You can also help the show by buying the first seaon on DVD. DVD sales have brought other shows back from the dead. In stores, it's retailing for $54.99, but on Amazon, you can get it for $38.49. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0007TKHKC/qid=1116553447/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1/102-9315800-7164157?v=glance&s=dvd&n=507846
People are also e-mailing talk show host, Ellen Degeneres, for help and support: http://ellen.warnerbros.com/funstuff/onyourmind/
Those are all the avenues I've found so far, so please, start getting using your voice! So far, I've signed the petition, and left feedback for CBS. Here's what I said:
( Who's running your network now? Gail Berman? )
They raised the question: What if God was one of us?
They owe us another season to answer it.
x-posed everywhere

[21 May 2005|08:22am] |
Wow, it's been a short week.
As we all know JoA's been cancelled (though I am working on some campains to bring it back).
I'm not sure how many of you actually still want to write drabbles but I figured I'd give it a chance.
This weeks theme is scenes from season three
I know a bunch of us have been thinking about scenes you'd like to see but never might... here's your chance to write it!

The challenge this week is Gifts... I'm kind of running low on the creative juices today.

Title: Joan Author: Mistakeidentity Words: 100 Prayers: Grace
His first time wasn't supposed to be this way. It wasn't supposed to be with some girl he'd only known a few weeks, a girl he had meant through her. It was supposed to be great, not a fast thing in a small apartment on the bad side of Arcadia.
It was supposed to be with Joan Girardi.
He couldn't believe how stupid he had been. He had gone to Bonnie's to talk art. Just art. But the next thing he knew he was on top of Bonnie on her bed and all he could think of was Joan.
The girl he loved.

The challenge for the week is CHANGES, do to the changes this community and the actual TV show are going through right now.

hey, I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone so that nobody's confused.
I'm Laura, the new manager of the community. Although it isn't official yet, the ex-mod dragonsinger, has turned the community over to me. If you don't believe me go check the comments in the last post.
Hopefully, I'll be able to get the community back up and running like it used to.
I'll post the next challenge soon, possibly later today.

I've so fallen out of the JoA fandom. I still love the show (although Adam is very iffy right now), but I just can't keep up with this comm.
Does anyone want to take over the management of it? If not, I'll go ahead and close it. Just let me know.:D

*Eyes grow huge* Oh, no! I completely forgot to update this community when I came back. I am so, so sorry. I blame the fact that I haven't been able to see the new episodes. Can you ever forgive me?
With only one prayer, Grace is our winner from the last challenge.

Getting things back on track, we're going to do some Make-up Work. Go back through the past challenges and choose any one of them to write.

Hi guys... so, I've never drabbled before, but I'm giving it a shot.
Title: Invasion of Privacy Author: thelast_spagirl Prayer: Grace
You know doors exist for a reason (…but hers has been closed awhile and it’s been killing you). It’s only ajar by centimeters now, but that’s enough (…only because it’s Joan).
You slip inside. “Hey.”
She looks desolate, bereft. And, for once, she’s too quiet.
“…So, I wrote you this letter, but then I tossed it. Uh, it was stupid, but anyway. I hope you feel better someday, or whatever.”
You’re afraid she’ll turn away, unready for friendship. (…That’s what you’d do.) But she smiles, eyes tear-glossed, and something soars, tossed from Joan’s hands to yours: a bright blue ball.

"Chanukah's not like Christmas," Grace said. "Not just because of the whole Savior-free factor, either. You just light the candles."
"I'm trying to be inclusive." Luke looked so – earnest. It kinda made Grace want to smack him. It also kinda made her want to kiss him. Many things were like that, with Luke. "We can have an interfaith celebration."
"And this is why you brought me a stocking with a dreidel inside."
"Uh, yeah."
Despite herself, Grace smiled. "If you want to celebrate, I could suggest something else."
"What do you –" Luke's question was cut off by her kiss.

As you can see, I've slacked on my duties as moderator. In fact, I think I've missed two weeks worth of challenges. I'm so sorry!
Next month, I'll be doing an internship away from home, and I'm not sure how much internet access I'll have. If anyone wants to step up and provide the challenges, please leave a comment here. If not, I suppose it can be a free month.
In February, I'll come back and try to revitalize this community. Until then, Happy Holidays!

| Joan is Never Late |
[09 Dec 2004|12:57pm] |
Words: 100 (yay! go me!) Subject: Late
She was late. Joan was never, ever late. Mucho problemo.
She was late, and the test was positive. She toppled off her bed, which could be potentially dangerous, and called Grace. “Ahm lade, en thuh tesd wash postib,” Joan said to the floor. “Oh my God,” Grace responded. “I’ll call Adam.” “Thank you,” Joan replied weakly as they hung up, and promptly collapsed on the floor again.
Footsteps. There were footsteps, quick and light, coming up the stairs, and then loud and heavy down the hall. “Jane,” Adam said from outside her door. “I’m not going anywhere.” That was enough.
