same piece, different day

This is the same project- from an earlier day. It had been soaking for about twenty-four hours at this point. The picture I uploaded on Wednesday was actually from later in the process-- grosser and smellier-- a three day old bath.

Sorry for the long absence everyone! I have missed Aye Aye. Here is my final for my ceramics class, which focused on casting. I made bread, made a plaster mold from it, made clay bread from that, made clay molds from that, and baked bread in the clay molds in my oven, after sealing them with canola oil baked into the clay for hours at 400 degrees. The surfaces are made with butter and buttermilk and oil. So, you see here three bread positives, one bread negative, six ceramic positives, and three ceramic negatives. There are four plaster molds, (three negatives, one positive) that are not pictured.

ceramics project! we had to use hobby molds, and a make a mold of our choice. I used goose hobby molds for the stems, and made a mold from a cantaloupe for the cantaloupe. The vine is shiny rope/cord.

I've done a ton of work on the silk project this week, but you wouldn't know it because I had to start over :( Better to start over and have it be awesome than to keep going and make a sucky project I guess. So have some older images:

used that for a t-shirt logo my dad made

took this a long time ago. It's a reversible teapot, kind of. Two spouts and two handles and two openings, but only one lid. Er. Well, it wasn't supposed to work anyway.

February is going to be a good month. It feels...pink.

uhhh dada-ist self portrait project from ceramics. i wrote adjectives and nouns on paper scrap and pulled these two out of a hat: farsighted fungus. and this sort of evolved from that. it is sort of a self portrait. figure scratching its back.
