⌈ “Miles Edgeworth speaking.”

“I’m getting married.”

Edgeworth paused. His eyes narrowed for a second as he gave his phone a look, as though the fault rested with the device. “...Excuse me?”

“I-er..” came the sheepish reply from thousands of miles away. “I figured it would be best to just tell you right off the bat. It’s, um... It’s been a long time, Edgeworth.”

“Glad to see you haven’t lost your knack for the unexpected, Wright,” the former prosecutor mused once he recognized the voice. He reached for his cup of tea. “I thought your interest was in the law, above all else.” Edgeworth glanced up when his assistant walked back in the room; he gave her a nod. Hannah flashed him a wink before she gathered his papers and scurried back out of his office. She closed the door as she went, letting it lock with a soft click.

“There’s actually a funny story behind that, Edgeworth,” Phoenix said, drawing Miles’s attention back to the long-distance conversation. Miles’s best friend was sounding a little more serious now. “I want to cut to the chase.”

“This is a new leaf.” Edgeworth leaned back in his chair to get more comfortable, taking a sip of his tea as he paused. “May I inquire as to the lucky party? It’s not Iris, is it?”

There was silence for a long moment, and Edgeworth worried he might’ve said something wrong. Before he could make amends, Phoenix spoke up once more.

“No, it’s not Iris. What happened- ... It’s complicated, Edgeworth.” A sigh; it sounded tired. “Suffice to say we didn’t exactly work out, for more reasons than one. Edgeworth-” There was a sound of fabric shifting, and it was only then the maroon-clad man realized that Phoenix had been whispering this entire time. No doubt it was late there. “Edgeworth, there’s a lot I need to tell you. There’s so much of it. And I know you don’t live here any more – I heard a rumor you weren’t even visiting... Just.. let me just start by saying his name is Apollo Justice...⌋

This is where we yammer on about the pairing and how it's awesome and what we would like to see in the comm and the rules and everything that everyone needs to know because this stuff is important even though nobody reads the userinfo.

Another paragraph of stuff going on and on and on and on about nothing in particular, or maybe everything in particular. We could sing a little song! Do a dance! I'm just filling space here so that I can see what the layout looks like and if I've royally screwed it up, I'll stop here eventually.
