This is not spam and, this is a real site where we do not discriminate our members as long as they obey the few simple rules that allows us to keep our forum open.

By the way yes we know that the author of this series is no longer popular. The creators of this forum feel that some of the things she has said about her work are a slap in the face to us. However we love the body of work she has created and, just because the author is lost in her own black pit we stand by her characters even if she herself does not.
I apologize that we have so many links on this community in such a short time. We're just really looking for new members and, our friend Rebekah posted to her communities. I however am blanketing every community with a like interest. I really hate advertising in a way that seems like we're spamming. Again I apologize and, you will not get another post like this from me for a month or so.

There's a good reason why so many of us join this one first. You look up vampire chronicles communities and as soon as the words qotd movie jump out at you, you're assaulted by memories of the horror of it all, or of the laughing fit, or both. The guy who did the casting seriously needs to reconsider his carreer choice, and the person who adapted the novel for the movie ought to be SHOT. Sorry, no chance for mercy there. I know you can't fit two books into one movie, but hey! make two movies then! Or do anything except what that person did. Marius as Lestat's maker is just wrong on a lot of levels, they left the Mekare out (because of course she has no role whatsoever in QOTD), they left Louis out (not per se painful because of his role, but rahter because they put Jesse in to fill the role of love of his life instead)... no no no, the list doesn't stop. But just when i thought the worst was over I decided to take a look at the extra footage. There's this little scene called something like "the arrival of the elders", with marius and maharet looking on from a hill... and to a corner, this strange looking, blond figure who just kind of stands there... turned out it was armand!!!! Sure, move on from black haired Antonio Banderas to blondie... AUBURN HAIRED DAMNIT!!!... but all in all, a good laugh. Not to be taken seriously! If I run into one more person who has only watched that movie and considers himself a VC fan (they're out there, honestly) I swear I'll hurt somebody...

This conversation occured this evening. For those of you who don't know, I have a previous story about my bestfriend who thinks he's Lestat to which I am his Louis.
Me: I'm coming home in like a week, we should rent some movies and just relax. The fireplace in the basement works now.
Lestat: What should you rent?
Me: I was thinking... Queen of the Damned?
Lestat: ...I should have let you die.
I've had a crappy week and I can't stop laughing at this...

Ironic how the first community I join is one devoted to bashing....
I had no idea that there was any way to screw something I love so much up so badly....... *dies* My main issues wiht the movie were that A) Jesse's a Mary-Sue. I would like to know when the fuck she became one of the main characters in QOTD. Someone tell me when?????? NEVER! B) I could not tell who the characters were half of the time. They were that badly cast. Did not fit the roles even slightly. C) What happened to all of the red haired twins stuff that took up quite a bit of the book?
Damn that movie pissed me off though. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry or hurl the TV out the window or go back and read the book to get my mind off the damn thing. In the end I laughed, probably pissed my friend off by ranting, and reread it.

Oh, yess! Finally a place to rant without people telling me to shut my trap xD
I actually bought the thing, but only 'cause I couldn't find it to rent it anywhere. Had to see it, tho. Know thy enemy, y'know? I kinda alternated between laughing, groaning and hiding my face against the wall behind me (the latter whenever Vincent Perez opened his mouth to "speak" or Andrew Newton showed his hideous visage and bad, blond perm. I refuse to call them by their characters' names).
Anyway, hiya, I'm fifteen years old and from Norway and I love this place already. 'Nuff said.

Oh God! I really hate this movie.
I'm a huge fan from VC and from new tales of vampires and i like so much the first movie about Interview with the vampire, but the movie about Queen of the dammed is sucks. Even I couldn't finish wacthed the movie. I can't understand how Rice could give permiss to do it.

Yes! I saw this community and had to join! I was a VC fan back before the fnadom witch hunts, and that movie was an atrocity. Just the final nail in the coffin for me (heh). I can't watch it without either getting ridiculously nagry or laughing like a lunatic. It's just that horrible.
I own it on DVD. I pull it out every so often to remind me of what a bad movie is really like.

I haven't been on this community too long so maybe it's been discussed already but I was curious if by chance Queen of the Damned was given another chance to be made into a more accurate film- who would you rather see playing certain roles? Like what young male actor of today do you think would play a good Lestat? I was trying to think up some but does anyone else have any ideas?
And also if this second chance was given would people prefer it instead to be on regular TV where it could be instead a couple hours long than a typical 2 hour film? I mean Stephen King does it with many of his films such as the Stand and I think with all that is involved with QotD, that would be a better idea.
I'm not saying that it will be given a second chance- I'm sure it won't, but I sometimes think of what could be done if it ever was.

I am happy I found this community.
Months ago, my friend taught me the ways of The Vampire Chronicles and why the Queen of the Damned movie was total crap and even when she showed me some clips, I had no idea how bad the movie was going to be When I looked hard in my local Video Store, I rented Qotd along with Ginger Snaps because they were both in the "2 for 1" bin (Though Ginger Snaps is actually really really good). How disturbing the final movie was, I was unprepared for. The CGI was medicore at best, the story was screwed up, there was so many messed up things.
When I read on Wikipedia that Queen Akasha made woman in Third Countries Kill Men, I was like "OMFG!!!!!!!" That's how stupid the movie is

Of course as soon as I saw this community, I had to join. QotD was the worst movie I have ever seen. First off, they got none of the character descriptions right. The way they look or the way they act. For example... Marius and Armand. Wrong. Marius has long, blonde curly hair. And he would never say "Appreciate your prey. *squish head*" He's all about killing the evil-doer. And Armand is auburn-headed. Way prettier, too. I can't really go on much about the personality, seeing as how he only said a few lines. They got the story completely wrong. Like, MARIUS DID NOT MAKE LESTAT! It was Magnus. *twitchtwitch* They left out so many parts that mattered. And didn't even put in characters that mattered, either. It was just one suck-tastic movie. And no one wants to watch it with me, because all I do is complain about it. Yeah...

I was lucky enough to find this community before I actually saw the horrid nightmare that is QotD. I saw Interview, and loved it, so I read the book, and now I like the books better than the movie, which is odd, because I don't really enjoy reading much.
If I never would've known how far off QotD was from the book, I woulda been pretty upset watching the film - but by looking on here, I decided to go rent it as a joke. So knowing that it was a piece of crap before watching certainly helps! :D Pretty amusing, pretty amusing...
Thanks for this community -- and forewarning people like me! haha :D

just wanting to know because I have a few qualms with that movie too!! Although at least they got Lestat's hair and eye right!!!
I believe Tom Cruise did a much better job with the personality though...I'm sorry Stuart but you don't make the cut!!!
I have other issues but I don't want to get in trouble on here!!

This is awesome, I've found others who have my same sentiments about QOTD movie!!!!
Umm.... I guess my oddity with this movie is that I bought just so everytime I watch it i can point out all the things they SCREWED UP on!!! It annoys my girlfriend sometimes but I continually find new things!!
I think what upsets me the most is that they completely left out The Legend of the Red-Haired Twins....
Anyway I'm glad to join this community!!

My best friend has believed that he is Lestat since the 6th grade. So, as a result, it leads my little group of friends on some wacky adventures. And he decided, when he picked our characters that I was Louis.
Anyway, a couple years ago I was at Target and saw Queen of the Damned on DVD for like 5 bucks. So being the snot that I am, and knowing the hatred he had for that movie I purchased it and put it in his mailbox as a gift. He found it and then put it in mine. This war continued for years until recently I think he was finally fed up.
I was home on a break from school and he comes to my house, bangs on my door, waking me from my half coma that I tend to fall into when I'm home alone and off school. I answer the door and he's standing there and says "come with me" so reluctant as usual I follow. In the circle I live in, his car is idling and I stand at the top of my driveway just confused. He drops the dvd on the pavement and proceeds back to the drivers side, stopping before getting in and screaming at me "This ends now, Louis!"
He got in the car, slammed the door and ran over the dvd at least 5 times. Then parked in my driveway. He got out of the car, obviously satisfied and I said "I spent five bucks on that" and went back inside.
In truth, I think that five bucks was not wasted for the utter joy of seeing someone run over the movie with their car, considering that if I were to compare it to a car accident, it would be a 100 car pile up in the middle of rush hour in the middle of Manhatten.
