In case you were not able to attend last week's screening of 9/11 Conspiracies: Fact or Fiction? the film has been uploaded to google video. The film is a documentary by the History Channel which addresses the claims of 9/11 conspiracy theorists, such as those made in Loose Change, and other popular documentaries.
I have also posted to my site a list of resources refuting the conspiracy claims if anyone wants to seriously research those claims in detail. These sources include articles and faqs by Skeptic magazine, Popular Mechanics, the National Institute of Standards and Technologies, and SETI, as well as counter documentaries which make a point for point rebuttal to films like Loose Change. Check them out.
And while you're hear, you should probably check out the Skeptics' Guide to the Universe podcast.

i was looking for some people i grew up with in topeka when i stumbled upon some myspace accounts made for the phelps family. in all humour i laughed really loud. if you want a laugh check it on myspace. the topeka zip is 66606.
and yes i grew up dealing with fred and i demonstrated against him. he picked my high school grad. and targeted my father in faxes.....down with such hate.

Armed Teen in Massachusetts Attacks Gay Bar Patrons
How awful! I hope all three people who were injured are alright. How horrible can people be?? I mean, people are just going about their business and someone comes in with an ax to try and kill them???
Does anyone know what hospital the victims are at? We should all band together and send them cards.
I seriously hope the little prick who's the perp gets the full sentence possible. Too bad there's no death penalty for attempted murder. IMO, there should be the same sentence for attempted murder as for murder... You shouldn't get points for not succeeding.
Also, keep your eyes peeled for this guy. He's still on the loose.

Hi,
My name's Sara, I'm 18 and from Philadelphia. I cannot STAND Fred Phelps. It's like he makes a point to be against everything I support! He hates gay people, I think gay people are fine just like everyone else. He thinks Bush is a this and that, I support Bush. He hates just about everything I hold dear.
My family was actually considering moving to Kansas several years ago, and I am SO glad we did not. I could not stand dealing with that douchebag everyday. To those of you in Kansas, how do you DO it?

I mustn't stay!
In order to save my own arse, and to avenge my horrible academic standing (hello academic probation,) I MUST stay off the blasted InterWeb for a whole month! this is SELF-IMPOSED. I am not being punished. I'll miss you all terribly and will type of interesting and such thinng throughout this fine November month, and will have them all ready to report on December first! So, while I won't be online (I will occasionally be on AIM, not much tho,) Some of the things I'd like to do with my free time I'm acquiring. I'd like to do better in school, maybe get a job, read more, practice my bass more, and see my friends more often. Maybe this will be the best November ever! I mean, November tends to be depressing sometimes for me (my psychiatrist, who I'm seeing this afternoon, calls it a "winter worsening") so but I think I'll have a splendid time; I will it so! In fact, I was just outside walking my dogs, in jeans and a t-shirt and I felt GREAT! I'm so happy now, I'm headed off in a fresh, new direction! I can't wait to tell you all my progress! But, I'll have to! ;)
Now, as for this group...PLEASE keep it going strong! I must avaunt, yet Phelps must be Phought! (lol) so.......e-mail me if you need anything, but I'm trying to stay away from this and other sites; they're ruining my so-called career...if I've got something to say, I'll ask you to include my 2 cents. i just discovered this community...hurray! i'm shocked there's not more members, but i just found it and i've been spreading love,tolerance,acceptance,and my legs for years;)~ anywayz, a big hug and kiss to the moderator for creating this space to share our disgust for rev.(adolf) phelps. i have not encountered the fuckface personally,but the first time i heard about him and his views was from some random talkshow,in the early 90's, where this worldy and well-educated woman in the audience stood up and said so eloquently: "i had never heard of you[rev. phelps] before today,and i hope the next time i hear from you is in the obituaries." poetic justice.

has anyone been keeping an eye on the phelpses as of late? it seems that, in his old age, fred has been extending his message and trying to piss as many people off as he possibly can before he dies.
first, he's taken a large firecracker some dude set off on one of their driveways as justification for americans dying in iraq. that was ten years ago..
but more recently, they've figured out how to use the internet to register websites. consider priestsrapeboys.com, which you can guess what that message is. thought you can't help but get around the incredible humor of the following quote: "One of the Bishops of the Episcopal Church, V. Gene Robinson, left the wife of his youth and abandoned his children to live with a man and pack his fudge..." or this image.
as if that wasn't bad enough, they grabbed a few other domains, including the following:
yourpastorisawhore.com - "Face it. Your pastor is a whore. You know it's true. He takes your money just to tell you what you want to hear! He's whored himself out to the devil!!!"
godistheterrorist.com - "Forget about Iraqi insurgents. Don't give another thought to dirty bombs. America, GOD is YOUR Terrorist!"
it's pretty clear that fred is just being an attention whore in his final years, between that stuff and protesting soldiers' funerals. it's as if his message wasn't strong enough before, and he just wants to make it into the mainstream somehow.
but he's starting to lose it. consider this quote from this page: "This popinjay King of sodomites, whores, zoophiles and molesters - this moral titmouse in the plumage of a peacock..." what the hell does that mean? it's just unintelligible babble.
btw, if you couldn't have guessed it, the hurricane is also a message from god for the fags in new orleans. so of course they brought the message back to themselves: "America became WBC's terrorist. So, God, in retaliation, became America's Terrorist."

Hello, I'm new. I just learned about Phelps, he was on the news saying things that no intelligent person would say on TV, about Sweden.
He is angry at ALL OF SWEDEN for the arrest of Åke Green, a Swedish pastor. I couldn't believe a person that dumb can be the leader of something, and I can't believe they showed him on TV is he worth that kind of attention?
Basically he said all of Sweden is doomed and will go to hell, the Tsunami should have happened here, the country should be zapped and the population whiped out, he can't believe Sweden is still on the map...
Åke Green broke the law that's why they arrested him.
Was this news in America as well or have you not heared about this?

haha, i can't believe this community exists. that's awesome. i despise phelps just as much as the rest of you, but i do it in my own style - satire and an inordinate amount of obsession. i've listened to a number of phelps sermons and laughed my ass off at the absurd things he says. during my freshman year in college, my roommates and i listened so much that i put a soundboard together. i used some of these clips to put together a phelps mix of sorts. we used to call the phelpses all the time and ask them great questions. after i read the huge expose about them, i would call and ask serious questions. and still laugh hysterically. i've listened to shirley (his loudest daughter) when she's been on howard stern, and how he's ripped her a new one. (example: he asked her if she's ever pleasured herself with a cucumber, etc.) and the good pastor is my aim icon.
you may already be disgusted with me. but consider this: you have to laugh at them, 'cause if you take them seriously.. well, then, you're just as absurd as they are. these people are so far beyond anything that could be called fringe. phelps is just a blathering fool at this point, saying as many ridiculous things as he possibly can just, mostly to be an attention whore. yes, i may take it a bit far, but i guess that's what i tend to do. but in order to successfully mock him, i have to be able to understand all aspects of him.
aaaaaaanyway... i was just wondering if there are any new yorkers reading this. see, the phelpses are coming to corona park on the 24th of june, and i definitely want to be there. i know some people on the somethingawful forums have gone to their protests and held up fake signs, and i want to go too. problem is, i can't really find anyone who would want to go, heh. but if i could get a picture with fred... well, that'd just about be the best thing on earth. imagine that, a jew. and fred phelps. ahahaha, it's awesome.

Summary: Phelps is/was trying to erect a monument in a park that would "bear a bronze plaque bearing the image of Shepard and have an inscription reading "MATTHEW SHEPARD, Entered Hell October 12, 1998, in Defiance of God's Warning: 'Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind; it is abomination.' Leviticus 18:22."
What the heck is wrong with him? Like we need monuments to condemn a murdered teenager in city parks now.

Hello. I just joined. I don't have much to add, but I do have some some words...
I can't stand Fred Phelps. Someone I met's school did the play "The Laramie Project" (this was in Wisconsin) and she said he came out with a bunch of protesters. The fact that anyone can hate someone because of their sexual preference is sick! Who spends their whole life trying to take away rights from people? It's honestly really sad, he should spend time spreading love, not hate and lies.

I was also startled to see he supported Saddam. And that he supports/defends child abuse, and uses the Bible as proof. And he thinks obeseity is punishment from God, man he's crazy!
