How happy are you?
I got this from Oprah. On a scale of 1-7 how would you rate yourself with each of the following statements. 1. In most ways my life is close to ideal. 2. The conditions of my life are excellent. 3. I am satisfied with my life 4. So far I have gotten the important things I want in life. 5. If I could live my life over I would change almost nothing ( read more )The Happiness Project |

The Master Key System - Free eBook
"Long before Anthony Robbins, there was Charles F Haanel..." The Master Key System is simply one of the finest studies in personal power, metaphysics, and prosperity consciousness ever written." This by no means replaces the amazing work done by Tony and his team. I look to it as an alternative to people who may be seeking something complimentary or are in seek of information from other sources that may prove useful in their day to day lives. The book was banned in the 30s by 'The Church', presumably the Roman Catholic Church. I assume because of its central focus on the individual and the abilities they posess as opposed to relying on religion to drive people. The author died nearly 60 years ago, but much of the information in these texts holds true today. It's available free at this link |

Do It Now
I found this article to be of particular value to me. Maybe you will too. Steve Pavlina - Do It Now... "When going to college many years ago, I decided to challenge myself by setting a goal to see if I could graduate in only three semesters, taking the same classes that people would normally take over a four-year period. This article explains in detail all the time management techniques I used to successfully pull this off. In order to accomplish this goal, I determined I'd have to take 30-40 units per semester, when the average student took 12-15 units. It became immediately obvious that I'd have to manage my time extremely well if I wanted to pull this off. I began reading everything I could find on time management and putting what I learned into practice." read more |

Oprah's Debt Diet
I don't know how many of you are watching it, but it offers a lot of good advice on getting out of debt and illustrates underlying reasons behind it. It can be challenging sometimes to stay financially in control with so many pressures to spend spend spend. |

Five good minutes 1. Wish yourself safety 2. Five-fingered peace 3. In with the good 4. Instant ahh 5. A silent retreat 6. Drop it 7. Laugh it off I recently made a posting to my perosnal journal and found this book offered useful tips on how to improve my day. It follows the K.I.S.S. doctrine to a T. I had *forgotten* about that when I was in a really supportive state recently.. ( read more... ) |

Interview with Chaka Khan
Chaka Khan is one of my favorite artists. She has accomplished a lot in both her personal life and career. Along the way, she also has faced considerable obstacles. CNN / The Associated Press posted a recent interview with her. click hereEven if you don't bother to click the link, here are two points it doesn't hurt to be reminded of... "Q: What challenges or obstacles have you had to overcome to achieve this level of success? KHAN: Oh, you name it, I've probably had to overcome it. I've been through the fire, you know. And I have some scars ... lots of internal ones. But they're all scabbed over. I'm a real next woman. I'm like, next, bring it on." "Q: What lessons have you learned that you would impart to those trying to follow a similar path? KHAN: You've just got to follow your own path. You have to trust your heart and you have to listen to the warnings. ... You can't argue with the universe. It's not about that. It's more about relaxing and knowing that you can handle it and feeling empowered. Knowing you have the power to do whatever the hell you want to do. That's what it's about. It really is." I hope you got something out of that |

Good documentary on vitamins / supplements
I'm fairly certain this hasn't been posted before. We Become Silent - The Codex-Cafta DocumentaryQuicktime Movie, 76.6Mb, 28minutes long. It does pray somewhat on fear, but it's good nonetheless. For me, it made me a bit more aware of attempts by governments and greedy corporations to take away the rights of individuals. I'm a business major and strongly believe there are plenty of good companies out there. It's just that the ones with the most power tend to abuse it... Ok ranting over... From an amazon.com review: "We are all living such busy lives that we don't even notice how deeply the politicos and international money machines are derailing freedoms every single day. Miller reminds us in a powerful fashion that this International cabal is forcing trade agreements upon us that are bad for EVERYBODY BUT multinational corporations. His writing, enhanced by the lovely and talented Judi Dench, is crisp and at times emotional as Miller weaves together the story of how healthcare -- and medical freedom of choice, as he calls it, is being hijacked by a group of bureaucrats serving on the Codex Alimentarius Commission, the UN, the WHO, the FDA, and other corporate charlatans." -Enjoy :) |

How to have a 36 hour day
I found this to be an interesting read. Post feedback if you want.. :) How to have a 36 hour day "How many times do you hear someone say “I wish there were more hours in the day” or something along those lines? The fact is that all of us are only given 24 hours. Having said that, how we spend those 24 hours varies radically from person to person. It's become a bit of a cliche by now but the 24 hours we have is the same 24 hours that Thomas Edison and Mother Theresa had and that Oprah Winfrey and Bill Gates currently have. As the old song goes “It's in the way that you use it.”
But what if we had more than 24 hours in a day?
Not possible? I disagree. While we can never have more than 24 hours of chronological time I think it's very possible to have many more hours of functional time. In fact, I think it's probably possible to get up to 36 hours of functional time in your day if you do a few relatiively simple things. So without further ado, here is my prescription for the 36 hour day.
It's a list of ways to save time that you may or may not have thought of. Implement a few of them and you'll likely open up a couple of hours each day that you didn't previously have . Implement all of of them and you just might find yourself with too much time on your hands. File that under “Good Problem to Have” right? :)
So here are 10 ways that you can radically change your life and free up the time you didn't know that you could." Current Music: Dennis McCarthy - Main Title |

Introduction...
Hey! This is great. I was introduced to Robbins by a person who has become a great friend, but is quite busy with her own plan for life of course. I thought, it might be nice to know more people who are getting out of his motivational work what I am getting, and have some...I dunno. Robbins buddies? So it FINALLY occurred to me to search on LJ and low and behold, there's a community. Fabulous. Hope to get to know you all and make some friends, perhaps in the area...a fitness partner, for example, would be excellent. I'm in Fairfax, VA. Thanks! |

Have we become a nation of spectators?
It wasn't from Tony, but I read somewhere that we've become a nation of spectators. A group of people that would rather watch people lose weight on television than go out and do it ourselves. Thus the enormous popularity of reality shows. It just seems to me like too many people shift blame elsewhere and don't take enough personal accountability. There are exceptions of course, but many people just let themselves get caught up even though they have the power to change. Thoughts? |
