Since I have been unable to update and anticipate being unable to update for a couple more months, I have been wracking my brain for some sort of way to keep content coming to the site over this period of time. My situation involves be being too busy with higher priority things to create content, but asking for you guys to step in for me uninspired is at the very least desperate and at most presumptuous. So I'm trying to meet you halfway.
I have orchestrated a few things that I hope you might enjoy participating in. This is the second thing,
a pair of memes being the first. This one's a little more complicated, but potentially a lot of fun. It's like one of those Magnificent Corpse drawings, or those stories where each person contributes a sequential sentence. I've posted two sloppy pages on the website, and its up to all of you to take it from there.
A DAY AT THE FVA- MAGNIFICENT CORPSE COMICNow that K has taken up residence at the FVA, his life is slowly falling into a more stable routine. At least, as stable as one can get in a building full of recovering criminals, mad scientists, evil masterminds, and superstrong thugs.
It is up to you to decide just how crazy or how boringly normal K's day becomes. You will have one week to contribute your portion of the story before the duty is passed on to someone else. You can draw as much as you want, multiple pages even, but don't be too ambitious! You can also contribute as little as a single panel. It is up to you.
In more official terms:
1. Make a comment in this livejournal thread declaring your intention to go next. If you don't have a livejournal account, include your name so as to identify you when it is your turn. The order of turns will go in order of comments posted.
1a. If you do not have a livejournal account and would like to receive notice of your turn, accompany your comment with an email to kristencella[AT]swimtrunkstudio.com, with Magnificent Corpse in the subject and the name that you posted on the thread in the content of the email. You may instead just put your email in your comment, if you do so desire.
2. You will have 1 (one) week from the last comic posted to submit your turn. If a week passes and you have not submitted anything, it will be the next person's turn.
2a. If you anticipate being unable to submit anything when your turn comes around, please notify me through email or by posting in the comment thread so that the next person may have their turn that week.
2b. If for some reason you have to forfeit your turn or you were unable to turn out a submission during your turn but you would still like to participate, you must comment again to be put back into rotation.
2c. If your week is up and no one else is in line after you, you may have an extra week to submit. If you are done and do not plan submitting anything more, submit what you have, and either I will jump in or the comic will be stalled until someone else declares their turn.
3. Submissions may be as short as one panel or as long as is feasible for you. Don't get too ambitious, though you can always submit what you have at the end of the week, even if it isn't as much as you had intended.
4. Submissions may be in any style you like. Though a visual element is preferred, if you wish to submit text, you may do so. Feel free to get creative!
5. Submissions are due by midnight CST (-5 GMT) on Sunday. Submissions will be put up on the site
HERE on Monday.
5a. Well, you probably have a few more hours than that- I'll look for it when I get up on Monday. But the closer to then the better.
6. To send in your submission, either reply to your own comment in this livejournal thread, or send your submission with Magnificent Corpse in the subject to kristencella[AT]swimtrunkstudio.com</div>
7. At risk of sounding like my mother, make sure you put your name on it! Or some other kind of credit line or signature.
