Rules

Unless otherwise stated below,

all rules are enforced using the "three strikes and you're banned" method.

1. No persons under the age of 16 will be granted membership in this community. Because of this rule, you MUST indicate your age on your user info page. THIS MEANS YOUR FULL BIRTHDATE (INCLUDING YEAR). If you are caught lying about your age you will be banned from the community.

2. No advertising in this community. There are communities set up just for advertising, such as

community_promo. The first time earns you a warning; the second time you will be banned. Research Related Posts:In order to protect our members, students/faculty doing research may make ONE post seeking participants after they have shown the maintainers that they have followed their institution's ethical review guidelines and protocol. Anyone who posts requests looking for research participants without receiving our permission will have the post deleted and will be banned from the community immediately. Please see this post for more information on ethical review and why it is so important.

3. No rude or abusive language. No question is stupid and if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. Offenders will be banned.

4. Respect everyone. People are at different points in their life. Try to keep this in mind. (see rule #3)

5. All posts in this community must pertain to sex and sexual questions. Relationship questions, female health questions, general health, and all other non-sex related questions and posts are not allowed. Please read this info BEFORE posting an "am I Pregnant" question. All posts must also have a question!. This is not a place to simply share a sexual/relationship/other experience or story without a question. Posts ignoring this rule will be deleted. Excessive missuse of this rule will result in your being banned.

6. Posts pertaining to illegal acts are NOT allowed. Among others, this includes any posts discussing, asking for advice on, or asking for opinions on how you personally have committed/are planning to commit acts of rape, sexual assault, abuse, incest, pedophilia, statutory rape, and the exploitation of minors in a sexual fashion. Members making such posts will be immediately banned from the community and LJ Abuse will be informed after which the post itself will be deleted.

7. Check the memories, community tags, Our Top 10 Qs Post, and recent entries before making a post. We are working on archiving important questions and answers in our memories. It's a work in progress, so not everything will be there. People wishing to make posts which screen comments should ask permission from the maintainers first. Those who make screened comment posts without our prior permission will find their post deleted. Alternatively... you could try one of these search engines...

A Warning About our Ability to help

As far as we know, no one here is a doctor. And even if there are medical professionals among our group we cannot verify their qualifications, claims, or ideas and therefore do not endorse people who claim to give "expert advice". We can sympathise, give a really good listening ear, and try to answer questions about sex & the aftermath of sex, sexual myths, sexual politics etc. But we cannot diagnose you.

If you even remotely *think* you might have an STD OR you could be pregnant, see a real live doctor and get a proper diagnosis. We'd love to hear all about it, but we can't possibly take the place of a doctor.
