J, since I'm gonna be at work tonight and probably gone tomorrow, there's something I want to post in here.

I was looking at the track listing, and I'm trying to think of the quickest way we can finish the album without sacrificing quality or content. Little if at all. And two notable things become clear to me:

"Destro's Ressurection" should have strongly reduced lyrics, and rely mostly on the rest of it's build.

The other...well, I love the way "Prevaricator" sounds. But the more I think about those lyrics, the time its gonna take to execute them and such, I'm thinking we need to decide on an alternate route. I think it's a well written song on both our parts; plus Janna helped with some real good stuff. BUt when I think of what its about, I don't think I have the conviction to do it well. It would be great for variety; but it doesn't fit in with the rest. The track has to be used. The lyrics were about a sour taste; but I've moved too far on to feel so righteous.

mm, maybe we can just minimalize the down like I was talking about with the other track.

Alright people. I guess it's that time of year. What the hell is going on with MagiTek?

First of all, I'm not sure where to write this. I would put it on Magitek Online, but I can't update it til Jared gets himself a new router. Hopefully that day will arrive soon. Til then, I'll put it here.

So, what's with the new album? I can honestly say that there has been alot of progress as of late. Lyrics are getting recorded and tracks are being mixed. As of right now, we have 3 tracks at 99% compleation and 6 that are probably at 90%, and 7 that still need a good amount of work.

Our newest track is a track about video games and Shamus adds his freshness to it. The more I listen to it, the better it sounds. If the rest of the album comes off as cool as this track, it will be awesome.

I honestly have no idea when we will be done. It's hard to make a quality album when both members of the Group have full time jobs. We only really get to work hardcore on weekends. Sometimes we get alot done, and sometimes we are so burned out from the week that we end up just hanging out and watching movies.

Here's the thing though, we're not gonna sacrifice quality to bring it out faster. This could quite possibly be the last MagiTek album for a long time. I don't wanna overhype it or anything, but when it comes out, we want it to be the best album we can produce.

Don't hold your breath waiting for it to come out. Just know in the back of your mind that we are still hard at work on it. And one day, BOOM! Fresh MagiTek goodness.

Okay peeps.

Since we are soon about to be working at max speed to get this new album done, I want to adress a few things that are of concern to me, and get some feedback.

Firstly, the band name "MagiTek". After some searches on the net, the notable things I can find in terms of patents or such is the folowing:

Quartz Update

The new MagiTek album "Distorting Reality for Better Perception" is about to enter Phase 2. Meaning the bulk of work is out of the way, and all that's left is mixing, vocal takes, and packaging. I will say now our deadline is January 26-31, giving us 5, almost 6 weeks. And thats not a delay from us lacking-it's giving us time to wrap things up, because after focusing like we have the last two months, we've made more progress than ever before.

And I ask you few who read these updates:
What kind of material would you like to see added to the MagiTek Online site? (through www.anothersphere.com)

MagiTek should be on Ninja Tune records, simply because that is the coolest sounding label. Plus, you'd be labelmates with Kid Koala, thus making you that much closer to Mike Patton. Obviously I've thought this out very thoroughly.

Over the last couple days, there's been oodles and oodles of MagiTek work actually being done. The amount left is still of fair size, but believe me when I say that it will be done sometime in October. J should post the rough draft track listing in here.

Fooling around with all the samples, as well as the mixing abilities and effects that are now at our disposal, I can guarantee that this will be a project that comes off 10 times better than any of our previous efforts.

Oh, it will be sweet.

I haven't talked to Jared yet, but I'm pretty sure that Another Sphere and MagiTek Online are down due to the Hurricane that bashed through Orlando. If they don't have power, neither does the server. Hopefully everyone is ok over there and power will come back soon.
