AboutThis is a community for those who read Anne Rice, for her fans. This is a community for us to meet, discuss her characters and her work.
Just a note: This is not for fans of that god-awful movie Queen of the Damned. Nor is it for fans of Aaliyah or Stuart Townsend, or whoever. This community is geared more towards those who have been reading Anne Rice before the movies. Those who believe Lestat would be best portrayed by earlier versions of Rutger Hauer, Sting, David Bowie, Julian Sands, etc. This is for those fans who seek intelligent discussion on Anne herself, her characters, her series, her fans, her novels, etc. This is not to mean that you must adore everything Anne does, but it DOES mean if you want to express something you don't agree with or don't like (for instance if you want to talk about why you didn't like Memnoch), it should be done without flaming, without being blatantly insulting, without being offensive, and expressed as your own opinion.
Good example: I didn't feel Memnoch was true to the characters, and I felt that it wasn't well-written. I was very angry with Lestat's antics.
Bad example :Memnoch sucks. This is a horrible book. Anne Rice sucks. Lestat was stupid.</i>
I hope the distinction has been made clear.
Rules
1. Fanfic is NOT allowed. Anne discourages it, and so do we.
2. Flaming is not tolerated.
3. Links are permitted, as long as they are AR related.
4. No quizzes, please, unless they, again, are AR related.
5. Before you post AR related news, please be sure to check your source, and provide a link.
6. This is not an RPG community.
7. If you are going to advertise your AR-related icons or AR page, or even your AR community, it will be limited to once a month. Any more than that and you will be banned.
8. If you MUST discuss the movies, kindly keep it intelligent, as in no "OMG!! STUART iz soooo hott!! he is such a hotty. i <<<333 this movie!! bye!"
9. If you are doing to discuss a book, kindly put spoilers behind an lj-cut tag so those of us who have not read the book don't have things spoiled for us.
10. When you join, introduce yourself to us! Tell us how long you've been reading Anne, which books you've read, which are your favorites and least favorites, who your favorite characters are, and anything else we may find of interest.
