Intro and a Manip
I've loved the Anne books and the first two Megan Follows movies for years (though I'm more than slighly embarrassed to admit that I only saw/read them for the first time as a young adult).
One of the things that has always bugged me about the first Follows movie, though, is that the original puffed-sleeve dress is brown, not blue.
So I fixed it:

My life is a perfect graveyard of buried hopes.
Hi guys, I know I've been gone for a really long time, but I got really sick this past June and am just now beginning to recover, so I haven't been able to keep up with
anneandgilbert as much as I'd like (by the way this is
brightorchid, just with a new username.)
Just a quick couple of reminders:
I am in the process of updating the memories and tags, so everything should be easy to find momentarily.
Also, I have switched the layout slightly so we are now using S2 rather than S1. It looks pretty good, I think!
Questions, comments, suggestions? Let me know! ♥

Just a quick couple of reminders:
- Do not tag your own posts, that's what I am here for. It gets a little confusing when you tag your posts yourself.
- If it is AoGG/Anne and Gil related, it is welcome here. You don't have to worry about asking whether or not it is okay to post it here - it is!

Anne journal
I think I posted this a while ago when I first started the journal, but now I've been going on it for a while, and I think it's about time to try this again.
I have an Anne journal
willows_whiten where I pretend to be Anne. At first I was trying to stick real close to the storyline of the books, but then decided that that defeated the purpose. So I want to veer off and do my own storylines and such. However, something like this is only fun if other people are playing with you. So I was wondering if anyone would be interested in befriending the journal, either as an AoGG character, or as yourself. She only has three friends, two who are the same person, and one who never comments, but is my real life sister, so I kind of made her add Anne.
So if you are interested in playing with me, or if you can think of someone who might be, let me know.
x-posted (sorry if you see this more than once).

Anne of the silver sceen
BY AMBER SHEA

P.E.I.’s famous red-haired girl will be in the spotlight again, this time on the big screen.
A new Anne of Green Gables film will be released in theatres spring 2008 in time for the 100th anniversary of Lucy Maud’s famous series.
"I think it’s a great idea," said Maureen Campbell, part owner of the Anne of Green Gables Museum at Silver Bush in Park Corner. "I think it will give the whole Anne thing another interest or boost on P.E.I. and I think that is needed especially with the way tourism is on P.E.I."
The film"Anne of Gables: A New Beginning" is a prequel to the TV series released in 1985.
The story will cover the tale of Anne’s birth parents and how she ended up in an orphanage.
Michelle Daides, media relations for the production, said they will be filming on P.E.I. and they’ll be scouting out locations soon.
So far auditions for a young Anne have been held in Halifax, Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal.
Young wannabe Annes are also auditioning on YouTube or by mailing in a video audition.
Daides said there was an impressive audition on YouTube from a young girl, originally from P.E.I.
"It was absolutely amazing," Daides said, noting they will contact potential Annes within the next two weeks.
Kevin Sullivan, creator of the original TV series, is behind the movie.
Sullivan decided to undertake the film last summer, after getting mass e-mails from Anne fans asking him if he could do something to honour the centennial year of the Anne series.
"He’s done a great job in the past so there is no reason why he won’t this time," Campbell noted of Sullivan.
Campbell feels the new movie will compliment their plans to promote the 100th anniversary of the Anne of Green Gables series next summer.

Ramblings
I just finished Anne of Ingleside and with only two books left until I finish the series, I have to make a couple of comments (on that particular book, and the series as a whole)
1) I finished reading it in church today (we went to 10 and then waited for Ange to give blood [which was unsuccessful] so we were sitting in the gathering area while 12 was going on) and I almost started crying at the end when Anne and Gil make up. But I thought that it would be sacreligious to cry over a book in church, so I held it in. But I was so relieved they made up and that they loved each other as much as possible (even though I knew they would.)
2) Within the first few words, the book seemed like an old friend even though I hadn't read it before, and I knew immediately the bad review I read about it would be wrong.
3) Parts seemed vaguely familiar, like I had read it long ago, so that was kind of weird.
4) I love Anne and Gil!
5) There's no other book that can make me dream like that series.
6) Those books are in the teen section of the library, and yet I can totally see myself at 80 curled up reading them. And when I'm blind, I'll have someone read them to me.
7) So far, each book seems to have at least one part that argues to make it my favorite book. Anne of Green Gables has the slate scene and the scene where Anne and Gil become friends and all the original competition. Anne of Avonlea has that ending scene where Gilbert figures out that maybe, just maybe somewhere in the future Anne would like him as more than a friend. Anne of the Island has all the proposals and Roy and Gilbert almost dying. Anne of Windy Poplars is where they're engaged. Anne's House of Dreams has them married. And the first child (RIP Joy!) and the second child. Anne of Ingleside has Aunt Mary Maria (who frankly I wanted to hit) and the whole misunderstanding over Christine, and Gilbert being as in love with Anne as he was in their House of Dreams days, and the whole ending.

Little details
I've seen the 3rd movie more times than I can count (well, all 3 of them), and yet by looking at the screencaps I'm noticing details I had never noticed in watching. For example, when Anne is in England in Jack's apartment, she places a picture of her and Gil over the picture of Jack and Collette.
