To all members!
The moderators are delighted to announce the launch of a great new website for Anna Chlumsky fans.
The Anna Chlumsky Fan Community is now open at www.annachlumsky.net
With the welcome return of Anna to the theatre and movie world, we thought that now would be a great opportunity to create a site for fans which encompassed everything that is offered at the Miracle Club and LJ blog in one central place, with a easier-to-remember web address name and an extensive photo gallery.
The new site makes it easier to view news, pictures and take part in forum discussions. Members can interact through private messages, post photos in the forums, and make suggestions on the future of the community. We anticipate that this will be a focal point for fans for many years to come.
The best way of discovering more is to visit www.annachlumsky.net today!
We will be closing the LJ blog within the next couple of weeks, as all its features are incorporated within the new site, but the Miracle Group at Yahoo will remain open for the foreseeable future.
We look forward to be seeing you at the Anna Chlumsky Fan Community very soon.

Look what I've found:
Blood Car
Writer/Director/Producer Alex Orr put together an amazing crew of Georgia filmmakers to create Blood Car, a soon to be classic camp horror film about a mild mannered vegan elementary school teacher who invents an alternative fuel source for an automobile engine--human blood. Anna Chlumsky (My Girl) and Katie Rowlett star opposite Michael Brune.

So it seems Anna's getting the movie chance again! Happy to know about it!

Balm in Gilead
(The Sargent Theater/American Theater of Actors)
A Barefoot Theater Company presentation of a play in two acts by Lanford Wilson. Directed by Eric Nightengale.
Darlene - Anna Chlumsky
John - David Lamberton
Joe - Francisco Solorzano
Ann - Victoria Malvagno
They really don't make 'em like "Balm in Gilead" anymore, which is probably for the best. Now marking its 40th anniversary, Lanford Wilson's desperate ode to '60s-era hookers, druggies and queers bears the conspicuous mark of a departed theatrical moment.
Aiming to capture the elusive essence of a cultural scene - much like the New Group's avant-garde work - Wilson eschews traditional narrative for dozens of aimless stories, drawing sketches of a burned-out community. By now, the loose form has become overly familiar, and "Gilead" doesn't dive deep enough into its junkie abyss to distract from the structure.
Still, the play could have passing interest as a museum piece if given a production that captured the lazy rhythms of its language and the casual menace of its tone. But that doesn't happen with Barefoot Theater Company's staging. Try as it might, the cast never quite cops to Wilson's groove.
Director Eric Nightengale works valiantly to coordinate the inhabitants of a sleazy city diner, juggling a massive group of characters that launch various complaints about their lives. He aims for a symphonic effect, raising the volume on one conversation at a time while the rest hum softly in the background. Occasionally, the scoring works to create a palpable, kinetic life.
Mostly, though, the cast remains tentative, waiting too politely for one snatch of dialogue to end before starting the next. Therefore, outbursts from, say, the tranny hooker or the alcoholic poet feel labored instead of visceral. Such tidy chaos sucks energy off the stage and leaves all the debauchery feeling rehearsed.
Little improves outside the crowd scenes, when Wilson tosses us the crust of a plot about Darlene (Anna Chlumsky), a naive young prostitute trying to find love with drug-dealing Joe (Francisco Solorzano) and friendship with fellow call-girl Ann (Victoria Malvagno). The leads tend to founder alone as much as they do in the ensemble.
One exception is Chlumsky - mostly MIA since the "My Girl" films - who does decent work with her thin character. At the very least, she makes clear acting choices as she wends through awkward flirtations and a 15-minute flashback monologue. Her Darlene is a terrified child, with jittery hands belying the fear beneath her grinning attempt at universal friendliness.
Granted, she could mine a few more emotions from the role, but Chlumsky - along with a gruffly maternal Malvagno - seems like a genius next to the other major players. Solorzano especially succumbs to the twitchy tics and hyperenunciated speech that so poorly suggest inner turmoil.
The only truly effective elements on display are the costumes, designed by Malvagno (who must be a Renaissance woman, since she also manages Barefoot Theater and stars in the docudocu "Mad Hot Ballroom"). A collection of faded leather boots, ratty army jackets and gaudy costume jewelry, the clothes were obviously created on the cheap, but squalor is just what's called for. Malvagno distresses her wares with the perfect number of rips and dirt patches, offering this production a rare instance of a fully-realised vision.

OK, it may have been in jest, but it is quiet as far as Anna is concerned, and I came across this little article....
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) "As a fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and USC Trojans, I'm uniquely aware that the only thing more important than when you jump on a bandwagon is when you make your graceless exit. Thus, while the pedomorphically obsessed press are spending the week declaring Dakota Fanning to be America's Sweetheart, the next Julia Roberts, or at the very least, the second coming of Anna Chlumsky, it's clear that it's time to make a stand."
If desired, you can read the full article here
The question is, will Dakota ever be as good as Anna was/is?

Well done!! Our efforts are returning the first fruits.
This LJ blog is now the reference resource for the latest news about Anna. I have searched the Internet for some months and it seems that this site is referenced for further information in most sites, specially in other blogs and forums.
I know the following is not a contrasted fact, but I would like to believe that we are contributing to make Anna's name be popular on the Internet. And that is something that encourages me to keep my steps within the track we have been walking together.

Do you all remember Antipathy? Yes, that film supposedly starred by Anna in 1999. We didn't know if that film was actually filmed.
However, some days ago I found how to contact the person who wrote the script (Brett Ryan Bonowicz ). What's more, that person is very related to the producers (Psychosomatic Productions). I e-mailed him and he told me this referring to "Antipathy":
"No it was never filmed. It was a project a producer friend of mine was trying to gain interest in and had that one sheet made with actors we saw in the roles. I had actually forgotton about webpage. "
So, we can consider this "mistery" solved.

An admitted dork, Anna Chlumsky was almost content living in obscurity as an editorial assistant for a science fiction and fantasy imprint at HarperCollins.
"It was a fun job," she said. "But I didn't feel at peace. I didn't feel like I was cutting it. I didn't feel like I was in the right skin at all. Kind of faking it, you know?"
They knew, apparently.
Strangers on the street still recognized the lush-lipped blonde from her disarming depiction of grief in the 1991 tearjerker "My Girl," at age 11.
Then Chlumsky ran into R&B veteran Roberta Flack while getting a manicure. Before long, she bumped into a childhood friend, Chuck Saculla, the principal dancer in Broadway's "Aida."
They all told her she belonged in show business.
"So finally, I had to take inventory of all the different signs that God had given me. I had to get back," said the now 24-year-old, restarting her acting career.
TRAGIC HEROINE
This weekend, Chlumsky stars as the title character in "Iphigenia at Aulis," a Greek tragedy the Staten Island-based TimeSpace Theatre Company is producing at The Red Room playhouse in the East Village, 85 East 4th St.
The show runs tonight and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12-15.
Simultaneously, she's playing the daughter of a convicted pedophile (as portrayed by Staten Islander Mark Lynch) in "Half Life," a sold-out ticket in the New York International Fringe Festival, ending this weekend.
Taking a break from rehearsals for both shows and running a fever, Chlumsky said balancing her schedule has been "crazy."
"But I couldn't say no to 'Iphigenia.'"
In many ways, they're alike, said Chlumsky, a Chicago native now residing in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn.
"She doesn't run away from obstacles and I definitely strive to be like that in a lot of ways."
Iphigenia is best known as the daughter of King Agamemnon, leader of the Greek forces at Troy. The king or his brother Menelaos offends Artemis, the goddess of the hunt, and as retaliation she summons a strong wind which holds the Greek forces in the bay of Aulis, where they had assembled before sailing to Troy. As appeasement, Artemis demands Iphigenia be sacrificed.
Chlumsky doesn't compare the scale of her choices to those of the Greek warriors. But as the 5-year girlfriend of a Army Reservist deployed in Afghanistan, she examines the situation through a particular lens.
"I'm not in the position to judge right or wrong, but I'm in the position to see what that means."
Paul Casali, artistic producer of TimeSpace, sought Chlumsky after catching her performance as Isabella, the virginal young heroine in Shakespeare's "Measure for Measure," for the Astoria Performing Arts Co.
INNOCENT QUALITY
"She just had this innocent quality that worked well for Iphigenia," said Casali, who plays Menelaos. "I felt Anna was very capable. She's very down to earth, very professional. There's no attitude."
After "My Girl" -- co-starring "Home Alone" sensation Macaulay Culkin -- and the 1994 sequel "My Girl 2," Chlumsky appeared in a few other films and enrolled in the University of Chicago. She graduated with a degree in international relations.
When she couldn't find a job in the field, she went to work as a fact-checker for Zagat guides for a year and then spent another year at HarperCollins.
While Chlumsky aspires to land the kind of parts filled by her role models -- Felicity Huffman, Stockard Channing and Mercedes Ruehl -- for now, her immediate objective isn't as lofty.
"I think a nice goal would be not to have to live hand to mouth," she said. "To know where I am. Just be able to play roles I want to play."
