Any and all opinions are welcome, and feel free to post fan art or fiction or slash or just whatever! But try to remember to respect other people's opinions.
A few rules (added or changed as becomes necessary):
1. When posting spoilers, pics, icons, or the like, please use an LJ cut. (Go here for a how-to: http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=75)
2. When posting quiz results or surveys, if you are the first person to post it, then by all means, post a new topic. However, anyone posting results from that same quiz or survey should reply to that original post. Hopefully, this will avoid clutter in the future.
3. Any post that talks about a major portion of one of the books, regardless of how old the book is, should be put behind an lj-cut and have some indication (in the text of the cut, or in the subject line) that there may be possible spoilers. If you don't remember how to do a cut, there's a link to the LJ FAQ in the first rule.
4. If you have a problem with a topic or an event in the community, PLEASE CONTACT ME FIRST (at BroknSpringDream@aol.com). However, complaining does *NOT* guarantee that I will take immediate action. By that, I mean you must have a legitimate complaint for me to take action. In other words, I won't ban people because they left a mean remark.
5. On the subject of fanfiction: I have no problem with fanfic myself, so I have no problem with anyone posting a story or drabble or whatever. HOWEVER, if you're writing a story with multiple chapters, please limit your posts to ONCE per week. It really causes a lot of clutter and doesn't make a lot of sense to post every individual chapter in a new post, especially if you're posting them within a few days of each other. Just set a day for yourself and wait until that day each week to post whatever new chapters you have all in one post. Not only does that eliminate a lot of clutter, it also gives people who are interested in your story an idea of when to look for new chapters. That's what you call a Win/Win.
Please remember that following these rules helps avoid clutter and any ensuing LJdrama that could arise. They are in place for *YOUR* benefit!
