About
Welcome! In the spirit of other drabble communities, such as [info]tww100 and [info]hp100, animorphs100 is a challenge community devoted to drabbles. [info]ka_verse is another drabble community for all books written by K.A. Applegate, including Animorphs and Everworld.

What is a drabble?

Depending on whom you're asking, a drabble is a short piece of writing, 100-1000 words. For our purposes, we're using 100 words.

Whoa! Animorphs! I remember reading one of those books, but I sort of lost interest. Can you tell me more about them?

Animorphs was a YA science fiction series, authored by K.A. Applegate. (and a team of ghostwriters, which has become a point of some contention in the fandom! ;)) It ran for about 70 books, 54 in the normal series, plus a host of auxiliary books. The series was published from 1996-2001, and the fandom still remains fairly strong. If you want more information, please go to [info]animorphs.

So how does this community work?

Every Tuesday Sporadically (please comment on any challenge entry if you think you can help keep the community going on a more regular basis), I ([info]katraven) will post a challenge, a topic to build your drabble around. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to write 100 word drabbles-as many as you want-about that topic.

Are there any rules?

Oh, sweet child. There are always rules:

Be polite.
Criticism is encouraged. Comments are encouraged. Encouragement is encouraged. Rudeness is not. I'm not trying to sound like a schoolteacher here, but I expect all of you are mature enough to know the difference.

Use lj-cuts if you're posting many drabbles at once.
"Many" = more than 3. Lj-cuts = (without the spaces)

Spoilers are allowed...
...for the time being. I'm afraid that I don't know much about how publishing is going outside of the U.S. If you're living in a place where not all of the books are available, drop a comment telling me how many have come out so far, and I'll be happy to adjust the spoiler policy.

Let's do it!
