A B O U T

animelims is a Last Icon Maker Standing challenge focusing on using anime screencaptures and promotional artwork. Every week, icon makers will be eliminated until there is only one icon maker left, hence the name LIMS.

The original idea of an LIMS was developed by

disney_hush, however, this particular one was inspired by the likes of

animanga_lims and

asianlims, in which you are given a set of images every week to make your icon out of.

Currently,

animelims is being run by your friendly co-mods,

monochroma,

catastrophiel,

involute and

whiteplums.

R U L E S

1. You may only use the provided anime screencaps/promotional artwork to create your challenge icon. Textures, stock photos and brushes may be used, but you may not use any other images apart from the ones provided.

2. All icons made must be made in accordance to LJ icon requirements: 100x100 pixels in dimensions and no more than 40K in file size.

3. Do not post your icon or use your icon anywhere until after the challenge it has been submitted to is over.

4. Participants will only be allowed one skip for the round they are participating in. The skip will be used up when the participant requests to skip a particular challenge or the participant fails to submit the icon on time. Failure to submit an icon after your skip has been used will result in elimination from the competition. Therefore, it is essential for participants to get the deadlines right and submit on time in order not to waste their skip.

R E G U L A T I O N S

1. In order to participate in AnimeLIMS Round 02, you must first sign up here. Also, all participants should join and watch the community.

2. Challenges will be posted on a Sunday at around 9:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time (EST). The deadline for submissions will be the following Friday, at around 11:00 PM EST. Voting will then be posted approximately an hour after, and will last until Sunday at around 8:00 P.M. EST. After that, results and the next challenge will be posted.

3. When voting, please vote for your least favorite icon(s) AND favorite icon (s). The number of icons you are required to vote for will vary each week, and you will be informed in the voting post. Incomplete votes will be discarded.

4. You do not have to be a participant in order to vote, so we encourage all watchers/stalkers/eliminated participants to participate and vote! The more votes the better!

5. All votes require an explanation as to why you are voting it off. Please vote for icons based on technique and aesthetic quality, NOT personal preferences (characters, series, colour etc.). An example of such a vote is #1 - I really hate Lelouch from Code Geass. Moderators reserve a right to discard votes which they feel is unfair or petty.

6. Inspired by

animanga_lims, the voting points will be as follows. A "favourite" vote will garner an icon a +1 point, and a "least favourite" vote will give the icon a -1 point. The iconmaker(s) that have the highest amount of negative points will be eliminated. People who do not submit on time and have no skips left, as well as people who do not keep their icons anonymous will also be eliminated. Likewise, the icon that gets most total points will win a People's Choice award. All PC icons will be displayed in a special gallery at the end of the round.

P R I Z E S

1st Place: A custom made S2 layout (header + coding)/website layout and userinfo layout, or any other graphics of a similar scale, and of course, a place in

animelims, perhaps even anime iconmaking history :)! First place will also receive 6 months of paid account time!
2nd Place: A custom layout header or userinfo layout, or any other graphics of a similar scale in addition to 2-months of paid account time.
