Welcome to the Original Anime Character Art Exchange! This is an art community for all artists inspired by anime art styles and making characters of their own. This community is open to ANY types of characters (the only requirement is that the characters should be human(oid)-based). This is a pretty open and lenient community; we start a trade at the end of each month by posting a meme like form for a character description. This is where everyone would respond with a proper description (and at least one reference picture) of your character. The requirements will be posted with each new round, along with a theme during certain months, and once we have matched you up with your "chosen ones", you have until the 26th of each month to complete the picture. Late drawings mean you can't participate in the next round until the picture is turned in (or the months over if it's too far into it). Just think, would you like it if someone had you and you never got a picture from them? If you are unable to finish the picture, just e-mail us. But in the long run, we just want you to do your best and try! "Draw like you would want to be drawn"! Now, the rules... Please read them and abide by them:

1. Get your art done in time, it makes things easier and not messy... of course, if you don't finish, don't panic! We won't kick you out! You just may need to sit out of the next exchange until you finish the picture. Volunteers to pick up on characters that people are completely incapable of drawing are encouraged, we want everyone to have a picture at the end of the month!

2. All characters human-based are accepted. Let those creative ~juices~ flow and make up something totally unique. It makes the drawing all the more fun for other people! But please don't use a character with an animal face. Ears and tail and things are okay. But some may have trouble drawing animals (at least I do ^_^;). There are many other great art exchanges listed below that welcome anthro characters.

3. If you wanna communicate with the person, go ahead and reply anonymously to their character description. Good examples of this would be if they want some specific pose, or if you wanna clear up some haziness about the description.

4. For any whom are confused, "Chosen ones" are different each month (or try to be). They are just like secret santas so you can't tell anybody!

5. Be respectful to each other and keep the whining toned down. "When is it done???" "Who got meee??" is annoying and not flattering. On the other hand, don't start flaming some one's art work they worked hard on, put yourself in their place before you say anything worth regretting.

6. Be detailed in your descriptions! You don't wanna be ambiguous and say "A girl with silver Hair and a kimono". What type of kimono? Is she short or tall? What about the hair length? Are there tints in her hair or special markings? We wanna know! Make this person come to life!

7. Don't link previous posts if you want a repeat of your character done. Be productive and copy/paste the description at least. It makes it easier to see immediately.

8. Please post the pictures in lj cut form or as a link. Remember to put the person's username in the post's title.

9. We will start the next round's role call on the due date (26th) and leave a post there for replies until the end of the month. The cut time is 12:00 on the morning of the first, after that, we would like the replies to stop. On the same day (the 1st), we'll send out the chosen ones and you can begin!

10. Keep it fairly clean (unless specifically requested..). We wanna be a friendly community, not a dirty one, so keep those R-rated pics between the artist and receiver. ^_^

11. In terms of medium, we mostly accept drawn pieces, paper or photoshop. If you're interested in another medium, we can discuss it within the community.

12. Last, but not least... Have fun! I hope you all enjoy this exchange to its full extent. We're here to give and get art! It's like your character is famous within the community and you're getting fanart. ^_^;; Don't be afraid to create the character in a totally different way, that's what makes it exciting to see the results!
