Tomorrow is a traveling day, so the anime_showdown poll is a day earlier this week. This week marks first of five Space battles. Don't forget to drop us a suggestion or two of battles you'd like to see over the next month.

This week's battle features Melfina, the bio-android, who navigates the Outlaw Star by joining with it, naked, in a chamber on the bridge and Bart Garsus, a human man, who navigates the Nirvana by joining with it, naked, in a chamber on the bridge. Surprising similarities, isn't it? Since the Nirvana displays a lot more power than the Outlaw Star, then this will not be a regular, fighting battle. Instead, we're testing to skills of the two navigators and who could win a race through our solar system. Starting at Mercury, passing orbit around each planet all the way to Pluto (planet or not)and then returning to Earth, which navigator can win in this space race?!

Starting next Sunday, anime_showdown will be starting a Month of Space Battles. We already have some ideas in mind, but feel free to suggest your own.

As a precursor, this week's battle starts off with a contestant including one of the most famous space-related shows, Cowboy Bebop, versus his Earth-bound parallel from Black Lagoon. Both are the leaders of their ships, both keep a rather rag-tag team together, and both come from respectable backgrounds even if they've wondered from that path at the moment.
