Hey everyone. Time for your new Submission Post. Week 5’s theme is Sleep ~~because I haven’t been getting enough of it lately.~~ I’m really looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with for this. ; ) And everyone, submit! Only half of our voters turn anything in—let’s see if we can get back up into the 20’s!

+You may submit up to two icons. They will be valid as long as they include a character (or characters) sleeping in them and/or the word ‘sleep’ itself. Variations are also acceptable- snooze, doze, nap, slumber, etc. ‘Dream’ cannot be substituted in.

+ Icons must be new, and you may not advertise them anywhere until after the contest is over.

Hi guys. Because voting was started early, I hope you won't mind that I end it early, too. Right now, I'm running a very high fever, and I want to be asleep at 9pm EST (especially since that's 2am for me!). So, 30 minute warning! I'm really sorry to have to do this, so get your votes in asap. Most people, I think, have voted, as I haven't gotten any new votes in over a day. So, expect results soon, and apologies again.

Hey all. I’m going to be posting up the submission thread again, as fullmoonfrost has a lot going down right now and is on a short hiatus. The new theme is something central to the lives of all good anime characters. Be it cute ‘n cuddly cooking scenes, or downright dangerous obsessions with ramen noodles, this weeks theme is…

Food
+You may submit up to two icons. As long as they include food of some sort along with the characters (or cooking/eating/leftover crumbs, ect.) it is eligible. The word alone will not do- ie. If your icon says ‘Cooking’ or ‘Cuisine’, but doesn’t include any actual food, you may not enter it. Many anime characters have interesting infatuations with stuffing their faces, so have fun with this! (As a note, 'odd' foods are fine. IE. If you want to make an Excel Saga icon, and Menchi is the dish of choice, then ok! If you have any questions, just ask.)
+Icons must fit LJ standards (100x100) and follow the rules of this community.

I must say, it was really close this week. Almost all of the icons were neck and neck, and most ended up only one vote apart by the time all was said and done. Congradulations to all of the winners. And also, a huge apology to anyone whose entry I had to fix—next voting post will not be such a rush job.

Hey, everyone. Here’s your neighborhood friendly reminder to go submit for our new theme, Icon Pairs ! We have six wonderful sets so far, but we’re going to need at least eight to turn this into a real contest. This is a fun theme, so let’s see some creativity!

Also, if you haven’t already, please go vote on the Love/KH II theme. We have some massive ties at the moment, so, please go judge for yourself! If we still have ties by the time voting is up, we’ll have to do a tie-breaker round.

EDIT:// Actually, scratch that. If there is a tie, both icons deserve to be recognized. However, anything above a 2-way tie will need a re-vote to see which ones take the win. And we have a NINE WAY TIE right now, so please go break that up!

Week 3: Submission; Pairs

First off, I’d like to introduce myself. I’m Addy, and I’m the new co-mod for anime_iawards. fullmoonfrost has been having a difficult time taking care of this community recently due to real-life issues, so from now on, if she isn’t around to post something in a timely manner, it’s no problem. fullmoonfrost will be posting the voting for Week 2: Love and Special Contest: Kingdom Hearts later today.

Meanwhile, I’m going to post the new challenge. Because this community allows two icons per contest, I’m going to use one of my favourite themes for icon communities.

Pairs
+You MUST submit two icons. These two icons can be anything, so long as they are a ‘couple’. In other words, they both must be able to stand alone as their own icon, but they also both must relate back to one another. They can relate in color scheme, or be two sides of the same picture, or have a pattern that continues one to the other, be a hero and a villain, have relating words, ect. If you have any questions about the theme, please ask, or check out examples at other icontest communities.
+While you MUST submit two icons for the ‘Pair’ challenge, you may not submit two different attempts. Ie. Only one pair please; 2 icons, not 4.
+Icons must fit LJ standards (100x100) and follow the rules of this community.
