So the small development company I'm working for has run into a huge problem and we're at a loss as to what the hell is going wrong - so to all of you wonderful people who work in Flash your help would be greatly appreciated.
Recently my company did some contract work for another company (company S). Company S decided that they needed to replace the art assets to the game, "Cool, go ahead, do your thing," we say. So they do, and send it back to us and everything is mildly hunky dory. Few fixes are needed but nothing huge right? Wrong.
We've got one single animation that no matter what we've done refuses to behave and it's completely motion tweened.
The problem is that the animation plays perfectly in the main stage, in the library preview, etc, but once we load it into the game it's like it's not even registering that the tween even exists. It pops from one animated key frame to the next and that's it. Tween lines are solid. We're receiving no error messages, and the animation plays perfectly on the stage area, but not when we test game etc. The image is a symbol, all tween lines are solid, we don't have any duplicate or empty frames and I'm at my wits end.
Any Help that you may be able to provide would be lovely - until then I'm going to see what Voodoo can do for it. | | Saturday, September 20th, 2008 | 11:16 am [agsux]

I thought the Eisener fall out was over Seriously, how the fuck did this get past Lassiter?! When my boyfriend and I went to see Prince Caspian and saw this trailer the entire theater just. . .sat there, horror struck, until I blurted out: "I'm going to fucking KILL Eisner." To which a great many guffawed. Sad thing is this shit is the legacy that Disney is leaving our next generation behind. This is the shit that Disney fired over 20,000 2D animators for. The 3D animation, and texture work will be beautiful, gorgeous even - but it'll be a very hollow kind of beauty. Also, as in tradition with recent Disney flicks, the story will fall on it's face. The film will be left on the shelf only to be bought for children too young to understand what they're watching is complete crap, resulting in annoyed parents, and a new breed for stupid pet owners to go flocking for. Disney. You're fucking yourself. x-posted to animation | | Thursday, May 22nd, 2008 | 2:55 pm [projecttwenty1]

A brief note to riggers who may possibly visit this forum. If you MUST implement SDK for the fingers, PLEASE also include the option to have FK for the finger joints, because really, who uses that SDK shit for hands, anyway? It takes twice as long for us animators to do anything. Let's review: SDK for hands = bad FK for hands = good Thank you. Carry on. This is the latest version of my animatic for my senior project. I posted the first draft here before, and there's been quite a few changes since then. For one thing, it's longer, and for another, there's a new character in it. Please give me an honest critique on everything! | | Monday, April 7th, 2008 | 10:41 pm [agsux]

RED STICK Hi all!
I was just wondering if anyone has already registered to attend the Red Stick International Animation Festival in Baton Rouge for April. I'm going and I'm trying to decide which days to get off work. Also trying to decide whether to go for the free pass or the Gold (oooh aah) pass (to get into lectures and workshops). Unfortunately, you cannot see a schedule until you've already purchased a pass.
So what I'm asking is, if you HAVE registered and want to share with me the schedule of events for the friday and saturday, it would be muchos awesome.
Thanks to anyone who helps! | | Friday, March 21st, 2008 | 2:40 pm [visualspice]
