Animal Quills is a community for animal-people to post their written works and thoughts - essays, poetry, experimental writings, musings, stories, fictions, calligraphy, etc. Those writings must be related in a way or another to animal-people, experiencing one's animal, and such as. Although this place was admittedly created for the mundane - living or extinct - "therianthropes", we welcome non-fluffy individuals and otherkins who feel animalness is a strong part of their being - gryphons, phoenikoi, dragons, kitsunes, and other animal-type creatures from human folklore.

Please remember the focus of this community and try to stay on-topic. Animal Quills is not a community to discuss terminology and theories on the origins of therianthropy/otherkin, neither is this a place for newbies seeking answers and posting questions. This community is for serious animal-people who have things to say on the subject from their very own practical experience - if you don't, refrain from joining. Discussions on the posted writings are of course encouraged.


Community Rules

  • If you intend to comment and post, introduce yourself by telling us about your animal-self and what brings you here. You can also provide a link to your website or such place if that answers the question.

  • You are encouraged to make your entries "friends only" (members only) for whichever reason you may have. As a side note, solely friending the community without joining does not grant the access to members-only entries.

  • Unless your entry is short, try to put your writings behind a cut.

  • Tags make life easier. Check out the tags' list before posting.

  • What is posted here stays here - no stealing or plagiarizing. If you'd like to do anything with the texts you find here, ask their respective author (not the admin).

  • If you aren't seeking for criticism, make it clear. Criticism must remain polite and constructive - being blunt isn't a problem, but being snarky is not appropriate here.
