I hope it's okay for me to post this here; if not then the admins can feel free to delete it. :)

I just opened an all-ages community for Animal Crossing: City Folk because well, why not? Take a look at [info]ac_cityfolk and join up if you're excited about the upcoming game!

A few questions on Wild World [09 Jul 2008|06:02pm]

[ mood | confused ]

I only just picked up a DS for the first time two days ago, and one of the two games I bought was Animal Crossing.  In general it's been enjoyable- I love having a new town and the and all the new fish, but there are a few things I need to ask....

One- will that massive horrible attic forever taunt me with its empty, open space and unmoveable bed?  Or will I ever be able to decorate it?

Two- The store is closed today in my file.  I was storing fish in my room for tomorrow when suddenly the game says something about not being able to put more items in the room.  There was still plenty of floorspace.  I just got the first room upgrade and there were a combined... 24/25 items in the room, including things on top of a fireplace and a box.  What the heck is this?  Why can't I cram the place to the gills with whatever I want?  It's not like the ram on something as fancy as the DS will explode if I put six more fish in the room.

Three- .... why can't I ask the villagers if I want to do a job for them?  Is this also permanent?  And who thought this was a good idea?

Four- I know you can have more than two floors and a basement in this.  But just how high can your house go, and what size can the upper rooms be?

Five- if you visit another town, is it like in the original where you automatically loose a villager every time you first go to a new place?  I'm not especially attached to the people I have right now (I'd actually love to loose two of them ASAP), but I'd like to have some warning ahead of time if it's the same system.

The game has been fun, but deeply frustrating at the same time because of little notes like this that make absolutely no sense to me.

hi i am new here! [03 Jul 2008|02:35pm]

stellarlain
i just started playing AC again, according to my friends in town it has been 58 months since i last played...geez.
this is my second town, so i never really played there anyway. i am now going crazy and making fruit orchards everywhere so i know where in town each different fruit is. i have also been buying up all the flowers, because i am going to group them all around town instead having a mixture of flowers everywhere-totally OCD.
anyway, i was wondering if you go into one of their houses and then mail them a present that matches their theme will they give you something awesome? i don't think i have ever thought to do that before.
this game is the best! my only major problem is for some reason the music makes me sleepy, so if i play for awhile i tend to fall asleep with the wavebird in hand.

Animal Crossing fandom help [15 Jun 2008|06:45pm]

Can anyone help edit the Animal Crossing article on Fan History? It would be nice if the article could include more information about user reactions to the game, reactions to the news regarding the wii Animal Crossing release, fan communities on LiveJournal, bebo, MySpace and why those communities were created, the major fansites, etc. Fan History is also trying to create a directory of Animal Crossing fans. It has about 301 articles. Would be nice to see more articles added and the current articles improved.

kay, I just joined, mainly to ask a question.

A friend of mine is a big fan of Resetti, so for his birthday I was going to try to make everyone's favorite mole with anger management issues out of perler beads (fuse beads). I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions, or possibly a fairly simple pixel design for him. I'd prefer it to be fairly small, so I could make a keychain or something out of it. I can't seem to get him right!

x-posted, so sorry if this shows up twice :)

Thanks!

My Sims [01 Feb 2008|10:12am]

[ mood | curious ]

I know this community only talks about AC on the GC, but there isn't a community I could find that talks about the upcoming AC on the Wii. I would've posted this on the AC: Wii thread on gamefaqs.com, but there are a few users over there that are kind of evil.

Anyway, to my point.

I was wondering if any of you have played My Sims on the Wii or DS. I have this theory that, since My Sims is only on Nintendo, they might use it as a base for Animal Crossing on the Wii. Any thoughts?

A view of Conchia [31 Jan 2008|10:11pm]

twilightboy
Good evening AC fans,

How are things?
A few days ago, as I was playing I realized I happened to have 2 memory cards. This meant I would be able to travel to a 2nd town! ; something I had never actually done before. However first, I needed to actually -create- another town, heh.
And so I did. I called it Conchia, named it after a conch shell. As I first visited and set up my temporary character ("Tim P", of course, a play on 'temp'), I noticed how unusual the layout seemed to be.

Here is a picture of the town map.

As one can see, the layout was quite unique (to me), having a narrow ridge near the river to the far left, a nice view from the waterfall...

another narrow ridge formed in-between the cliff and upper river, and a 'sideways' ascension / descension between levels.

In any case, it seemed so unusual to me, I thought I would pass it along.

Take care!

Lighthouse Job Help [15 Jan 2008|07:31pm]

hari_kari
Hello all!

I started playing Animal Crossing GC a few days ago.  Today Tortimer asked me to turn on the lighthouse for him, but when he said between 6 and 10 I THOUGHT he meant that I could turn the lighthouse on anytime between 6 and 10, not that I had to do it promptly at 6.  When I went at 6:30 it was already on, so I'm pretty sure I messed this job up.  Will he ever ask again?

Thanks in advance for your help.  ^_^

Misc. Gamecube AC trivia [01 Jan 2008|07:47pm]

twilightboy
Good evening AC fans,

How are things?
I was just passing along some fun tips, unusual items and trivia from the Gamecube version of AC. In 2006, I had an opportunity to post a similar entry here as well. This one is just a refresher / update for any interested parties.

1. Extremely rare, but possible, town configurations :

* having two cliffs instead of (the default) just one (e.g. 'your town has 3 levels')
* having a town with no stand-alone ponds (note : this makes fishing somewhat harder, heh).

A 2006 survey from website animalcrossingcommunity.com, of over 2,800 votes, found that, while all of the base fruits had about an equal chance of being the 'default' one, peaches were (, comparatively) the rarest.

2. Non-catalog items

These particular items are, under normal circumstances, not available for obtaining via regular gameplay. These codes are all universal, and I believe you may tell them to Tom Nook.

These 3 items were in the Japanese version of the game, however when descriptions were 'adjusted' for American audiences (a common and vaguely unfortunate practice), they were taken out.

Bamboo Robe Code:

4UTG548uQKQZGf
1n#%jtLEqj5ZBf

Somber Robe Code:

GetinforfreebY
1dtinforfreebY

Summer Robe:

1qWWO6IfB@&q7z
8XzSNrpfyo76ts

Note that the middle code (sort of) spells out something. Many of the codes in the game have humourous g-rated messages in them.

These items, worn by the animal villagers during (respectively) the fishing contests and exercise days, can be worn by you as well and are also otherwise-unobtainable :

Blue Puffy Vest Code:

2uiDfAH%AfqmWi
ZkyTnDUgQjJ&j%

Red Sweatsuit:

HlljaLzthemmoY
IlljazzthemmyG

Finally, these styles of paper, while viewable in the game, can normally not be acquired. So, here you go!

New Year's Card paper ('Mom' sends this January 1st)

TWWl8b2YYJwj@n
57UU3dgaHujXX5

Wing paper (used by the HRA to let you know your scores)

RaTZA9CBZ#hWv7
D#t%KTIvtNfqPN

Fun random effect :

You can tell this code to Tom Nook. Tom will give you a 'present' from reset-mole Mr. Resetti. It's a boot! lol. This also magically changes your music to the "Resetti" music. Upon the next start of the game the music is back to normal - not to worry. Just a goofy thing to do.

N%L%qi7skeefTY
VWRFVC@#QkUdLY

3. Other unusual bits of trivia :

* Author James Ondrey's fascinating article answers (, with the help of cheating device Action Replay) questions like "what's on the other side of the railroad tracks?" (alas, not much, heh), Tom Nook as a villager, items left of the US version and more!

If you have any questions or etc, please let me know. Thanks
Okay. Take care!

AC Question [14 Dec 2007|11:30pm]

unsolvedsuicide
[ mood | curious ]

I have a quick question about the GameCube version of Animal Crossing.

When I lived with my parents, my brother owned Animal Crossing. I had one of the four houses on the first town memory card.

After I moved out and got married, I bought my own GameCube, but borrowed my brother's game and memory card, so I could play my house. My husband got another memory card and made his own town on that.

Now that we've been borrowing my brother's game for more than a few months, we're thinking we should give it back, but I don't want to start completely over.

Now for my question:
Is there any way to copy a town to a new memory card? I know you can't just go into the options and copy it, it's disabled for AC towns. I can't figure out, though, if there's a way to do it that I don't know about!

Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

question! [07 Nov 2007|12:22am]

cumpig
hey everyone. i am getting rid of my gamecube because i have a wii now, and i offered to give it to my nieces since they're getting into gaming (they're totally addicted to their gameboy advances) and their mom isn't willing to pay for a major tv console at the moment.

i'm thinking about hooking them up with animal crossing, since i love the ds version so much. the problem is, i haven't played the gamecube version yet, so i was wondering if you could answer a few questions so i can tell my sister exactly how the game plays.

1. will my nieces have to share a town like in wild world? can you have more than 1 town on 1 memory card or does having more than 1 town require an extra memory card?

2. the NES games you get in the game...do you buy them from Nook's store? are they fully playable (ALL levels of mario, for example)?

3. does visiting the island require anything other than a gameboy advance and the connector cable? and the island shows up on the big screen, not the screen of the gameboy, right? what shows up on the gameboy screen?

4. i hear that you can visit eachother's towns if you have more than 1 memory card, but you can't play simultaneously? is this correct? is the only way to do this if you have an extra memory card?

haha, that's way more than a few questions. Sorry. thank you for any comments, though! i really appreciate it. :)

Hi everyone, I apologize to anyone who has me added on their AC friends roster already, but I have a new DS now (used to be using my boyfriends, got my own today!) and thus my friend's code has changed, so I updated my profile. The only thing that changed was my friend code, everything else is the same. New info:

Also, if you haven't added me yet, please feel free to do so and leave your info in a comment. Thanks!
