Five Hundred
Just to say that the Angband webcomic Tales From The Pit just had its five hundredth strip, and I'm rather smug about it :)

Also, on a more relevant and less egomaniacal and selfish note, I've got a question. I'm looking for a little more variety, can anyone recommend to me a new 'band I've not played yet? I'm familiar with Angband, ToME, Zangband, NPP and Steamband - what can you recommend to me that's a bit more different? Not just in terms of flavour, like Steamband, but with more different mechanics, while still being a 'band. I don't mind if it's an older non-updated one, as long as it's a fully functional one, not a half-finished beta.

I heartily recommend UnAngband. Although it's slightly buggy and a pre-1.0 release, it is playable, and still being updated.

I'm going to try Entroband and Furyband next.

Meanwhile, there's a fair amount of rumbling about Dwarf Fortress (closed source, free binaries available for windows + macos). Might be worth a try.

Portralis is kinda sexy. You can practically build a character from the ground up to the way you want to, plus craft the spells anyway you want as well. Beware, the game knows no mercy...

*checks update*
