This is insanity, people. He's not a hero. He's not a savior. He's not even honest. He's a fucking POLITICIAN. An especially silver-tongued politician, sure, but a politician nonetheless - and as such he keeps company with the very scum of the Earth.

This kind of political idolatry turns my stomach, especially when it's infecting children. Give them a real role model. If that role model has to be black, choose an honorable figure like Benjamin Banneker, Booker T. Washington, Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, or Martin Luther King, Jr. (flawed as he was). But even for them, this kind of sickening display is inappropriate. None of them are bringing the Word to you from Heaven. The greatest thing you could learn from any of them is to be a strong individual and think for yourself.

It looks like it's pulling songs from hosting across the web, so I guess it's institutionalized bandwidth theft. ^_^ So, in creating this little play list, I guess I'm an accessory to bandwidth theft, which is mean. Most of what I put in my list, though, are grabbing songs from state universities, so I'm not hurting some poor saps. You're welcome to discuss the ethics, or just enjoy the mixtape. ^_^

Well, I can pretty much wear anything that isn't offensive. (No Protest Warrior or fundie t shirts.) Also, nothing you'd get arrested for. But then again, I'm a telemarketer. Well, that's not entirely true, as I don't sell anything but joy.

Hey, guess what: I got rats! Super adorable, though one of them is super-dominant (Magellan, aka 'Jelly'), to the extent that the other one (Jeeves, with the little white gloves! omg.) won't accept food from people. What does one do about that?

Also, you can now donate to No on Prop 8 to preserve equal marriage benefits in Cali and get a guaranteed answer to your Savage Love query. W00t. That man is all kinds of awesome.

Also: anti-shout-out to midterms being right around when the harvest fest is. Grar. Well, I've gone every year I've lived here, so I'll be making it work. Word up to bodily autonomy and medical rights!

I didn't see it there, but I'm sure Fark has a great thread about it. The International Herald Tribune, among other sources, reported that Somali pirates hijacked a Ukrainian vessel carrying 30 Russian T-72 tanks. (Link)

Ninjas can't top that, so pirates are the winners.

Now, I dare not imagine what happens when the Somalis hijack a tanker of refined diesel, so that they can actually drive the tanks...
