AboutThis is a place for anarchists and anyone interested in anarchism to discuss the theory behind the activism! The community is very new (set up to celebrate the demise of invite codes) so bear with it while it grows. Feel free to discuss/debate anything that might come under the banner of anarchist theory. The list of interests isn't exhaustive: more will be added as the community grows.

Anarchy Archives is a great place to find the works of various anarchists, including those which are hard to find offline.
Flag.Blackened.net also has library-style links, but mostly deals with current issues, as well as hosting the websites of many anarchist groups and publications.

However, if I see personal abuse being dished out to any poster I will step in. Repeated disrespect for other posters will be dealt with.
There are, however, (to use a cliche) nearly as many definitions of anarchism as there are anarchists. Therefore, some debate about the nature and definition of anarchism itself should be expected. This community does not adhere to a particular 'brand' of anarchism, so keep the debate fairly respectful. If you want to be exclusive, start a seperate community - it isn't hard. Advertise it here if you want, but please accept that this space is a wider forum than that.
If you are new to anarchism and want to learn more about what it is, make use of the links above. A good tip I learnt the hard way in other online communities is to read more than you post while you are finding your way around the issues.
If you are researching an academic paper or article and want opinions, advice, links or other help, please be open about this. My advice would be to make as few posts on the subject as possible - put lists of questions under an lj-cut (instructions here) and be explicit about why you are asking them. Questions should be relevant to anarchism! Please be respectful of anarchist principles even if not an anarchist yourself - also, respect people's right not to answer or engage with such posts. SurveyMonkey provides a space to post questions: feel free to do that and post the link to your survey here so people have a choice about reading them. Also, you may be interested in the Institute for Anarchist Studies, which supplies resources for anarchist research. Activista is your friend when searching for information on subjects related to activism.
