For those who don't know Brother Metal, the Capuchin monk who sings with a heavy metal band, you should take a look at this article about the band putting out their second album. This guy...I like this guy. This man is proof that you can be a devout Christian, secure in your faith and dedicated to it, and still not be an annoying religious type, the kind that cannot do anything without shoe-horning Jesus into it, or whining at people who don't agree with you. I respect him, and would venture to say that I'm inspired by him...and he rocks. |

So, in case you missed it, the Watchmen trailer is available. Yes, it's fabulous. I'm glad to see so many scenes that are right out of the graphic novel, and looking right. I still wish they had not "updated" the costumes to a modern look, as that makes no sense within the story...why would a retired superhero have a new version of his outfit? Still, that nitpick aside, I'm looking forward to the film...a helluva lot more than I am for the new Batman, in fact. It may turn out to be a great film, but that is just NOT the Joker, to me. Yesterday, woke up with my neck in pain. This never went away, resulting in a pretty joyous headache by the end of the day. Today, got out of bed after a fairly sleepless night, still sore. Yeah, it's just a whoopie kinda morning. So, I'm gonna watch Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog again (which, if you haven't seen yet, you damn well should) and cut my fingernails. "Daniel Allen Everett "allegedly engaged in graphic sexual conversation with an undercover agent and propositioned the agent, who was posing as a 14-year-old girl, to meet him for sex," prosecutors say in a statement issued Tuesday. "This afternoon, Everett was arrested in Novi where he is alleged to have appeared to meet the minor for sex."
Best part? He was arrested wearing a T-shirt with the words, 'Worlds Greatest Dad' on the front.

Yikes  "At approximately 3 PM, Tuesday, July 2, a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500, pulling a new travel trailer, hit the corner of the Texas State Bank Drive-In on Tenaha Street, causing the complete awning to come to the ground. Luckily, the driver of the Dodge, Mickey Miller, of Garrison and his 10 year old son were able to exit their vehicle uninjured. According to Miller he was circling the bank to park on the other side when the corner of his travel trailer caught the corner of the bank awning. Next thing he heard was a rumble as the awning started falling against his driver’s side door. Somehow he was able to unbuckle the seat beat and exit the other side of his truck as it was falling. Mark Ivy of Texas State Bank stated that the main lobby would be open for business while the drive-in is being repaired..." Cripes...I like that you can see the passenger-side door fly open.
