| About: | Anahita is the Persian goddess of Dance and Beasts ~ of War and Fertility and the patron of women. The name seemed appropriate because of ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif){kind=small} ninsun's roots in Persian Dance. Belly dance is the oldest and one of the most beautiful forms of dance extant today. It offers not only a physical workout, but also it builds confidence and is a lot of fun. ninsun and nightelectric have been teaching belly dance since 2000. nightelectric has been belly dancing for 11 years this year. Her roots are in Egyptian cabaret. While ninsun began dancing and performing Persian Dance since she was 5. She started learning Arabic and Moroccan style Belly Dance when she was 20. This is a small community for our Belly Dance class. We figured it was one of the best ways to share ideas and communicate outside of class time. If you are a belly dancer and live in the Atlanta area (or even if you don't) feel free to join us in our discussions!! This group is an announcement board for our class but feel free to post events such as workshops, haflas or other belly dance events going on in the Atlanta area. Please no excessive spamming. We no longer meet at Spring4th. We are currently looking for a new home. Please keep checking back for more information. We teach a more of a Fusion Belly Dance class. We start with the basics of Egyptian Cabaret then show the differences between Tribal and other forms Middle Eastern Dance. Cost is $7 for drop ins and $5 for our students, starts promptly at 8pm, Drop-ins are always welcome.
