Down To Basics

On your average Friday afternoon in late January, Liz and Sara found themselves lamenting the lack of a truly great Andromeda-centric community on Livejournal, and rather than simply being content to bitch, they decided to do something about it. Thus, this fiction and art community was born!

Currently, Liz, Sara, and Christina (

inksplotched, and

callmepatsy) are the moderators, and anyone is welcome to become a member and share in the fun! We desired a place that was simultaneously active and fabulous, and that is what we aim to be.

How It Works

Posting is open to all members at the moment, so all you have to do to share your fics or art is join. Please title all posts as "Fic/Art: Title", and include the following information within the post:

- title (yes, again)
- characters/pairings
- rating
- length (fics only)
- warnings (if any)
- summary

Please remember to place the story text or art below a cut. As this community is open to all members (and, in fact, one of the moderators is under the age of eighteen), try to keep the adult content to a minimum. Yes, it's nothing shocking or new, but LJ does like to run things a certain way, and this is their domain, after all.

So far as multi-chaptered fics, feel free to post each chapter separately, or to link to the story as it is posted on another archive. Fake cuts to writing journals are quite allowed.

Other Guidelines

Of course, not every piece has to be a focused character study on Andromeda, or a bodice-ripper about her whirlwind romance with Ted (although those are certainly encouraged!). Any fic or art in which she plays a major role can be posted here. If you've just dropped her name in the fic, though, maybe another community would be a better place for your work.

By the time you're publicly sharing your work, it should be as good as it can be; in the case of fic writers, please make sure you've got the basics down, such as grammar, punctuation, and spelling, and run your work by a beta if it's possible. When posting something you've written on the internet, after all, you're essentially sharing it with the world. If your fic looks as though you've just thrown it together, we may remove it from the community and ask you to look it over and revise before reposting it. As for art, it's a bit more relaxed, because, well--anything from a sketch to a polished piece can be enjoyable, but when you're reading, you prefer final drafts.
