Anonymity ain't what it used to be.

You may have noticed the drastic change to our blog and we thought we'd say sayonara before we went away completely.

Our own personal PTB found this blog and rather than accepting or appreciating it for what it is, they've tagged it as "inappropriate, immature, and unprofessional".   At their "encouragement" we will be removing it from the public eye.

Please feel free to let us know what you think of this development.

We hope you enjoyed the ride.   We did, at least while it lasted.

I've enjoyed it. And I don't believe you ever stated your exact location. But if you guys were updating it at work, that really wasn't very smart. There is no guarantee of privacy, and no right to it usually, if you're using your employer's computer.

I can only speak for myself, but I never posted at work. To my knowledge the others didn't either. They found us because other people were linking and responding to us in their blogs - positively I might add.

I'm going to miss you guys. You brought me back to the wonders of working in a library (I miss that too).

How did they find out? Some administrators really are dull-brained bureaucrats.

I really enjoyed reading your stories, and could relate to many of them thanks to a former job in the public library. I'm sorry you have to go, and hope to see you again in a new community! (With a friends-lock, yes?)

I'm sorry to see the end. I'm lucky; as far as I can tell, my boss hasn't seen my blog yet, but I doubt that he would be ticked off about it, because the library I work at is a sane & decent place.

I really enjoyed this blog and will be awfully sorry to see it go. If you decide to make it or a sequal 'friends only' (thereby removing it from 'the public eye' as the PTB 'request') please consider putting me on your friends list and giving us a heads up if it's a new blog.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't you - I don't know - start it over under a new name... Let us friends know??

I'm just so pissed for you!! Are you sure you don't work in the same library I left last year? They too would have reacted like this - only they (the "head" of systems included, plus director, branch heads etc.) would have been too stupid to figure out how to find any blog, much less this one.

*cuss word* *expetive* *harsh words, utterred in anger!*

So much for libraries being the last bastion of uncensored freedom of thought and speech. Guess that only applies to the "public" not the the staff, eh?

I'm going to miss your blog. There are days when I desperately need a belly-laugh and your posts were the most likely to provide one.

And, yes: I work in a library. As a cataloger. See, told ya: I desperately need all the belly laughs I can get!

To the PTB: You suck. And you're cowardly hypocrites.

I think it's wrong, who is it hurting? You aren't naming names or intentionally doing this to harm them, it's a blog, it's a rant. It reduces stress and fosters comrodery between co-workers. It also encourages people to think outside of the box and realize that Librarians are people too and that a library is a sacred place, not something to take for granted. I think you should start another underground blog and screw the man! Viva la revelucion!! But if you do, please announce the site somehow, my blog is at http://fbtn.blogspot.com and my boss knows it exist and think's it's great!

I'm always shocked to hear or read that someone's creative endeavor has been stomped on by someone In Authority - especially one holding sway over a library staff. This is the latest example, and you have my sympathies. I hope you will find a clever, fool-proof way to resurrect the site in a way that protects your livelihood and thwarts the intentions of the person(s) who throttled your site: I enjoyed it, and thought it was worthwhile.
