Title: Responsibility
Characters: Lucas, Agnes (mine)
Rating: R (vaguely disturbing imagery--this is AG)
Disclaimer: Agnes is mine, but not Lucas or Trinity itself.

Teaser: Responsibility starts at an early age.

Notes: My exchange gift to Caye at our happy little writing board! I set out to create something Lucas/Selena but instead Lucas started talking and I've found the hard way, he doesn't talk too much willingly - so my attempt to write something slightly smutty with some Lucas/Selena history twisted into something dark and Lucas-centric, a history lesson of sorts, which will fit neatly into the larger fic I'm currently writing in regards to Lucas before he was the badass evul sheriff of Trinity. By the way, I subscribe to the theory that, although Lucas does age, he ages more gracefully than most people do - not nearly immortal, but his shelf life is better than most other people's, *g*

Lucas is far from a lonely boy.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let people know that we've set up a new community specifically for American Gothic slash fic and discussion and the like. It's:

And please if any of you have fic lurking anywhere that we might not have found, no matter how old it is, do let us know because it's such a beautiful show and is so deserving of fic, but there doesn't seem to be an awful lot out there. Can anyone tell me exactly what the story is in Damned If You Don't??

What went on between Carter and Sutphen? Who did Wash kill? What was up with his daughter? I still can't quite figure it out no matter how many times I watch that episode.

And I discovered today that the guy who played Ray in Rebirth (and who I thought was oh-so-cute) is the guy who plays Steven in That 70's Show.

So, the four episodes tacked onto the end of the DVD box set were originally shown in the UK but not the US... any body know why they weren't shown over there? Was it just the TV schedule people not really giving a sh*t about the show, same as over here...?

I missed American Gothic for years and remember being outraged the first time it was shown that they wen't going to make a second series and on finishing the box set was outraged all over again they never made a second series. *still reeling*

I was a bit disapointed with the box set, don't get me wrong i am very greatful they released it but was hoping for a little more in the way of extras, but then the series was filmed almost ten years ago now. Also i thought the design of the box set was sloppy, the four episodes tacked onto the end were the ones never aired in the us but they were aired in the uk only in a slightly different running order (if i am remembering correctly) It was just a sloppy design attempt and very confusing for anyone who bought the box set and didn't know.

Anyway, LOVE IT, MISSED IT and now can re-visit it through a little divine power of our own, the internet.

Hi guys!

Just joined this community, and wanted to say thanks to the person who put all the DVD episodes in the right order in a recent post! It had been doing my head in trying to work it out... I knew they weren't right when I was watching them! I really can't for the life of me think why they weren't put on in the right order to begin with...?

Hi American Gothic fans! I saw the series back when it aired, but hadn't seen it again until recently. I just bought the DVDs, and have watched the first 3 episodes. I'm really glad to see it stands up to the test of time! :D

Now, a query for those of you in the UK, as I don't know if the US dvds have the extra 4 episodes on them. I have heard that these episodes aren't in the correct order. I know they weren't aired, but I want to see them where they should have been in sequential terms, so does anyone want to let me know if I need to do any reordering when I watch my discs? Thanks!

Just a shout out to all the UK fans (if you aren't aware already). American Gothic is re-running on channel ITV4 here in the UK, starting Wednesday, 11th October at 22:00.

I'm sure the Sheriff will be mighty pleased if ya'll watch it, even if you do have it on DVD ;)

English Subtitles on US DVDs?

I bought the DVDs in the UK but I was disappointed to see that there are no subtitles.

Does the US version have subtitles? I really need them to help me with understanding, since English is not my first language.

Ok - am I the only one that noticed Nick Searcy as the sheriff in the season opener of CSI? When Brass called him Ben I almost choked. I suddenly expected to see Lucas Buck round the corner saying, "Long time no see Benji." ;-)

Just wanted to say hello, new member here.

I just received my copy of the DVD. The DVD's are FF, I could've sworn it was shown in Widescreen on CBS. I cannot find my VHS' I taped when the show was originally broadcast to verify that. Any clarifications anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

Good news for those among you owning Region 2 DVD players - American Gothic will be released in the UK! I have no idea whether it will be exactly the same as the US version, but I guess we'll find out on 20. March at the latest, which is the release date. (Of course if you find out about details earlier, feel free to let me know so I can pass them on!) You can get the DVD set at Amazon.co.uk, among others.
