Feminists are not allowed to forgive each other. One slip of the tongue and you're out. It's totally Old Testament. If you you don't get everything all at once at the right moment, you're out. They don't need you to help put out fires (or set them). One by one all the feminists turn against each other, accuse each other, verbally stone one another, slam manuscripts in front of each other and whip out red pens.
And the patriarchy strokes its fat cock with glee.
Who started the fire? Let's fight about it while the world burns. Fuck the water bucket brigade, you just disrespected my ism.

So, the show was a success. We had over 1,500 people show up throughout the night and it was a really great, excited crowd. We had a great DJ and people were totally into watching the live art. It was all around awesome.
Lots of Merch was sold. I sold my canvas and one of my customs. One of Scribe's toys got stolen on the night but I found out today that it was recovered (KC is too small a town to get away with something like that). We ran out of drinks at the end, but I wasn't prepared for that many people.... I'll know better next time.

Now, the tricky part is what do I do for the next show?

| Weekend In Brief ('s... not Boxers *snicker*) |
[05 Oct 2008|10:29pm] |
* Friday night was the Art Opening at The Pitch (the alt weekly newspaper where Zach is the Art Director and new found gallery curator). It was the first showing in the space and to say we worked really hard getting the space ready to show would be an understatement. We rigged lighting and display areas and cleaned years of rat and mouse plus old party remains from the space. The words, ick, ew and grody (sp?) come to mind. It was a show for some local Vinyl Toy designers and Street Artists (including Zach, they invited him to join the show as well as run it!) and it was the highlight of Kansas City's First Fridays. We estimated roughly 2,500 people came through the doors.... which for any gallery is amazing, but for the first show in the space, was fantastic! I was so proud of all the work that the guys did to make it all happen. Plus made us feel better for only having slept 4 hours a night for the entire last week! (pictures later!)
*Saturday- Braindead. *Sunday- We watched Conference (thank you extended cable) and Zach pickled up and canned Veggies while I canned up some peach jelly.
Hopefully this week returns to normal, although we are planning a MAJOR purge of roughly 70% of everything we own. Have you ever just been tired of stuff? We are, and want it out. So look for garage sale announcements coming soon to a blog near your.

| I'm Kinda Grossed Out |
[01 Oct 2008|08:42pm] |

So I'm just curious.... how often does everyone wash their jeans? I know weird question right? Well this week I posted up a new trick we are using for making our jeans go another day or two. Now, around the Trover house, we might get 3 days out of a pair of jeans, assuming we aren't changing the oil in the car or mowing the lawn, but the people who commented to the post are saying they don't wash their jeans upwards of 5-10-30 days... if EVER.
So my question is... if you can wear a single pair of jeans for 10 days without washing them... do you own pets? And can your friends smell you? Or do I just happen to be more smelly than everyone else? .... because I never thought I was the smelly kid in school, so someone should step up to the plate and tell me.

| Titles Tell Stories |
[28 Sep 2008|03:14pm] |

Titles Tell Stories , yes they certainly do.
If you own a camera and some books, show me the stories your titles tell. The best submission will win a prize. What this prize is, I have no idea, but I'll come up with something and it will awesome.
* Now before you freak out because I own a book called Faggots you might want to first read about the author Larry Kramer---an American playwright, public health advocate and gay rights activist. So don't trip, Faggots is sometimes required reading for Queer Theory/Queer History classes and you know I heart teh gays..
EDIT: Contest ends 10/05/08
