This community has open membership, posting, and commenting right now. Don't abuse it, please, because that will mean I have to moderate things, and you will be known as the reason we can't have nice things. Also, before posting, never underestimate the importance of reading the community rules (which you're now making a good start on), and lurking moar.

Hey so I totally started this community in grudgy annoyance with

feminist. This in no way means that if you're a member of

feminist you can't join (even if you're a mod). Similarly, membership in communities like

anti_feminism,

childfree, and

stupid_free won't be held against you; only behavior relating to this community is relevant in this community. If I notice trolling, though, there will be swift and severe consequences – and again, you will be known as the reason we can't have nice things.

RULES
These are here for a reason. Read them, love them, follow them. If you try to excuse anything with “I didn't read the rules,” it will have no positive impact on anything. Please feel free to suggest additions/deletions/alterations at any time by contacting me.

1. This community is a safe space. Yeah, okay, but I totally mean it. LJ-cuts for graphic discussion of violence or sexual abuse, as well as warnings for graphic images, are necessary. This also means that if you use abusive or offensive language, I will notice and I will take action (this will range from a mod note to banning, based on my personal discretion, but always with the option of dialogue with me). Also, fight about ideas, not people. Personal attacks are out!

2. One thing I have a problem with

feminist about is the definition of education – this is my take on it. This community is always open to questions and education – but that is not our primary purpose. So, please, feel free to post with questions and queries, but your possible ignorance will not be considered an excuse for offensive behavior. If you accidentally say something offensive, you're not going to get banned for it, but you will receive comments explaining what happened, and you will be held to fixing your language/behavior/whatever.

3. I don't care if you use macros, but please make sure they're not gigantic and offensive, okay? This is a common-sense call, guys. If I notice they're abused, I'll let you know.

4. DO NOT PLAY OPPRESSION OLYMPICS. I swear to God, this will get you smacked down. Valid comparisons are one thing, playing types of oppression off one another to try and make yourself look “more-oppressed-than-thou” is right out.

5. Don't use “-ist” language: sexist, racist, heterosexist, ableist, etc. This goes hand-in-hand with rule one, but it deserves its own thing.

6. If your post is hella-long, please put it behind a cut. Similarly, do the same with large images and (again!) graphic descriptions. Also, please tell us why you're cutting it at some point in the un-cut parts of the post.

7. Don't troll, here or at someone else's livejournal. If you have a problem, keep it here, don't take it to someone's house. Additionally, if you have someone from this community trolling you, please notify me so I can take action.

8. Don't spam. If you want to advertise something, just run it by me first. I'll probably say yes! Again, use the e-mail omgmod@hotmail.com.

9. DON'T DELETE COMMENTS OR POSTS. Just don't! If you messed up spelling/grammar/html you can repost it with an explanation of why you deleted it; otherwise do not do it. This can be a bannable offense. Do not delete others' comments on your posts; this is a bannable offense. Do not disable comments, screen comments, freeze threads – basically don't screw with the comments or posts. Do not delete posts - if you want something deleted, contact me. Additionally, do not alter the original content of a post without explanation. To sum: I can delete things, you cannot.

10. Don't violate LJ's TOS, okay? This is common sense.

11. There was totally something I meant to put in here and I fucking forgot it.

12. Don't be an ass and have fun!
