Three years after the events at Eldrant, a young man emerges from the ruins where Eldrant crashed and he travels to Tataroo Valley, seeking to fulfill a promise he made to his companions. After all this time believing their friend to be dead, they welcome him home with open arms--
--But a little closer inspection will reveal that he's not who they think he is.
It turns out that when two perfect isofons create a second-order hyperresonance to release a vast amount of Seventh Fonons that matches the fonic frequency of their hyperresonance completely... The effects can be bigger than anyone initially suspected. (...Well, except Jade, but that goes without saying.)
Suddenly these doubles are appearing out of nowhere -- identical to people who already exist in Auldrant. They're not replicas; they have memories of their own, albeit memories that differ from their counterparts. What are they? Where are they coming from? And what are the natives going to do with them?
