• Altered Planet is a mostly closed spinoff community from sages_of_chaos. Joining is primarily by invitation. If you have not been invited, you can still send a join request to the maintainers - please note, however, that a join request is no guarantee of acceptance.
  
  
• Although Altered Planet is a spinoff, it's not a two-way street. You can take any of your problems out from AP into the Nexus of your choice, but outside events will no longer profoundly affect AP. Some outside characters can still come in, and minor events in a Nexus can carry over into AP, but nothing that would massively change the world. Use common sense - you can bring in a friend, you can learn something from an off-world teacher, but you can't bring back a nuke.
  
  
• Healing magic has limits. A Curaga will not fix everything, and magic may not always be the best option for healing a wound. Also, resurrection magic of any kind has an extremely limited window of effectiveness - anywhere from a few seconds to one minute - and will not work at all if the body is not relatively intact.
  
  
• Please, for the love of Jenova, make an effort to use decent grammar and spelling in your posts. Netspeak makes the mods cry.
  
  
• If you are trying to apply with an OC, keep it within realistic bounds. Random wandering Cetra or other mystic races are likely to be rejected. Teenagers who are more overpowered than Sephiroth are doubly likely to be rejected. Long-lost relatives will be subjected to extensive background checks and blood tests (Prof. Hojo presiding).
  
  
• In Altered Planet, canon is warped, not ass-raped without lube. If you have doubts, consult a mod about what is considered 'canon' within AP. [Summary post of AP canon pending]
  
  
• Altered Planet is rated somewhere in the vicinity of R. NC-17 bits should be confined to character journals and marked and/or locked.
  
  
• Not a rule, but important to note - character journals often contain plot points or other story bits. If something important is taking place in your journal, it may be a good idea to link it from AP.
  
  
• OOC communication is your friend. If you want to run a plot and you're not sure if it'll conflict with someone else's plans, just ask. OOC posts are fine, as is contacting specific muns to discuss. Don't be afraid to discuss. :D
  
  
• Not all posts have to be Serious Epic Plot. If your character is having a bad day, or needs to get his motorcycle repaired, or wants to leave a message for another character, or go bar hopping or whatever? That can be posted here. There's a whole Planet for stuff to happen in. Go play in it. :D
  
  
• If you sign up and get on the character list, and then never show your face again, the mods may take the liberty of removing your character from the list until they come out and play. You won't get banned, we'll just assume you're waiting "backstage".
  
  
• You may, however, get banned for trolling, OOC malice, or other unsavory acts. Don't worry, the mods are reasonable - we won't banninate you if you're not being a wanker. So don't be a wanker. :D
