ledd_bullet@hotmail.com AboutALTERNATRANS is a community for people who are into non-mainstream music & other stuff and who are also transsexual, transgender, genderqueer, gender variant, etc. Intersexed people are also welcome.
A person's Sex = genitals (sexual reproductive organs, junk, bits, whatever you wanna call them)
Gender = how a person identifies. for example: man, woman, boy, girl, boi, boygirl, girlboy, birl, genderqueer, genderless, etc.
Transsexual: a person who identifies as and wishes to (or has) become the opposite sex from which he or she was born physically.
Transgender: to change one's *gender* but not necessarily one's sex. Examples: dragqueens, drag kings, transvestites, crossdressers, genderqueers (depending on whom you ask), etc.
Genderqueer: not quite male but not quite female, or male and female, or something else entirely! it depends on who you ask.
