    A-Phi letters on Ebay
Hey ladies -- My undergraduate chapter is raising money for its housing corporation board to help finance the move to their new chapter facility this coming fall. We had a silent auction at this last weekend's alumnae weekend and a few letter shirts didn't sell, so I've placed them on Ebay here. Check out the auctions -- all are either new or gently used and pretty cute.

    Thanks :-)

    New Members!

    àllo!
I was reading posts, and I wanted to update ya'll on our new "pledge" class!
Kettering University had 11 girls accept bids in August (we start school in July) and our chapter currently has 17 active members!
We did lose 2 members who left KU to go someplace else, and we had 2 members graduate & one alumni graduate this past school term.
Our 2006 pledge class (they'll be initiated in February) is currently 10 members strong. We lost one, but she was worried that she had rushed into the decision, and she wasn't sure if she even wanted to be Greek - I'm not upset about that in the least, since I'd rather have an independent friend then an unhappy sister :)

If any of you are in Flint, MI sometime, let me know and stop by!

See some of you at Regionals in Toledo OH :)

    RIP Courtney Andreasgray
I haven't posted anything in a very long time, and I wish I was here to share good news. I know some of the sisters in this community knew and respectd Courtney and wanted to share:

"Our dear friend Courtney AndreasGray has lost her battle with Leukemia. She succumbed to the disease in the early morning hours of November 17, 2006. A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, November 22nd at 2pm - Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park and Mortuary on Mission Boulevard in Hayward. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, the Gray family has requested that monetary donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Courtney's memory: http://leukemia-lymphoma.org/hm_lls

With loving memories of Courtney... may she rest in peace..."

For those of you who didn't know Courtney, she was an amazing woman who dedicated her life to Alpha Phi. All of us at SFSU loved and admired Courtney immensely. It was because of her that Eta Theta was able to remain at SFSU and thrive. She believed in our chapter when everyone else was ready to give up. We all owe her so much. She was recognized at the 2006 Convention for all of her accomplishments and we will all miss her so much!

    From www.alphaphi.org:

    Michaelanean Society Award
The Michaelanean award was first presented at the 1972 Centennial Convention. It is given each biennium to those who have shown outstanding loyalty and continuous devotion to Alpha Phi at the local level.

    Courtney Andreasgray (Eta Delta-CSU/East Bay)
Courtney’s loyalty and dedication to Alpha Phi is most evident through her impact on the San Francisco State (Eta Theta) collegiate chapter as its adviser for nearly six years. She has helped the women double membership and promote a positive image of the chapter. Courtney has been the Pacific Northwest regional team’s resource in mentoring and assisting other chapter advisers. She was named Pacific Northwest Region Chapter Adviser of the Year in 2005.

Vote for an Alpha Phi for Fiesta Bowl Queen!
Alpha Phi International has some great news to share. One of our Gamma Pi/ASU women has been selected as a Fiesta Bowl Court member and Queen finalist!! We are so thrilled for Kim Joiner...she is a fantastic candidate, person and Alpha Phi!

Interestingly, the selection process now comes down to the public. We have been requested to vote online for Kim at the official Fiesta Bowl web site between October 27 and October 31st. You can vote as many times as you want during that period, so please continue to vote today and tomorrow!

    Here is how to vote:

CLICK HERE to be taken to the Fiesta Bowl web site. Then, go to the right side of the screen where you will see a listing of football teams. At the bottom of the list of football teams, you will see a tab that says "polls". Click on that and select Kim Joiner's name.

Please forward this email to anyone and everyone that you can. This is an excellent way to support an Alpha Phi become a true "stand out" in our community! Thanks in advance for your support!

    Happy Founder's Day!
Happy Founder's Day, girls! Congratulations to all of our chapters and our amazing sorority for our accomplishments throughout the years. Here's to the future! :)

    Love in AOE,

    Leigh-Anne

P.S. This is a cute saying I saw in some of my sisters' profiles this week cause Duquesne is in the midst of Greek Week right now. "Our ivy is out of your league - Alpha Phi!" I love hearing other chapter's sayings so post some good ones!

    Points System
I'm not actually in the position that takes care of this for our chapter, but I know the person that does would be greatful if anyone has any tips on this subject:

Do any of you implement a points system within your chapters? Like for attendance, good grades, any kind of miscellaneous activity like that?

Our chapter has been using it for a few years now, and no matter how many times we change it, we just can't seem to get the chapter involved in it to make it worth while, and this is something that our Chapter advisors greatly want us to use. We offer rewards and recognition when its finished, but the problem we think we have, is that since it lasts the whole semester, its really easy to loose motivation in keeping up with it.

    Any tips?
