"Swingtown" far from dead
CBS has not given an official word. If you read other places, they don’t know or they are guessing.
None of the cast have been released from their contracts.
Lana Parrilla has said she is still awaiting word.
Grant Show has said nothing about joining the new cast of “Melrose Place.”
Jack Davenport extending his stay in LA.
Josh Hopkins, Brittany Robertson, Shana Collins, and Michael Rady all have short term projects or completed previous projects.
Not one word spoken by Mike Kelley or Alan Poul.
Mike has a two year, seven figure deal with CBS-Paramount (meaning he can have a run with CBS and/or Showtime). He has stated he would like it to remain as a Summer show with 13 episodes. "Swingtown" is his priority.
The upcoming updated graphics on the DVD set says it is “The First Season” not the “Complete Series.”
CBS had every opportunity to cancel immediately. A week or less like “Moonlight” had.
CBS handed the re-airing rights of the first season to Bravo television to generate more of an audience. Besides them airing it as a marathon in October, they can do it whenever they want.
CBS continues to market to other companies with “Swingtown” included. Word has gotten around that since the beginning of the Fall season, it was shown to CBS affiliates as a package of clips from shows that are to either return or are new for the year.
Sean O'Mac from Talk Radio has said that "Swingtown" has a far better chance than "Jericho" or "Moonlight" of being picked up for another season.
Buzz remains VERY strong about the show. Articles, editorials, and blogs continue to talk about it.
CBS in a very unusual move allowed their characters in soap opera "As The World Turns" to utter the phrase about a couple "That's very SWINGTOWN of you, but it isn't gonna happen."
CBS’ website still has the “Swingtown” page up. It’s just in hiding. Along with “America’s Greatest Dog.” “The Ex List” though when it was scrapped after four episodes, so was it’s site. If you click on it, you’ll just be lead back to CBS’ main page.
